Summary

Starting off as a dancer for the Farraday Dance Company at the tender age of fourteen, Angelika has always found an escape on the stage when she needed it most. Long sessions spent dancing by herself in an empty studio, with the moonlight shining on her back, was a regularity whenever she'd find herself too stressed. After all, she might not be able to control the world around her, but she could always control herself and her body.

It wouldn't be surprising, then, how quickly Angelika fell in love with the world of theatre when she discovered it. Though most would assume that on the stage she could act out to her heart's content, in reality, she felt it one of the only ways to express herself, too used to staying in her lane and waiting to be told what to do. So, she studied. Getting training from some of the top professionals in her area was easy, considering her impressive dance experience, an asset in these matters. But the searching after? That was never so easy.

Failed audition after audition. She was expecting it, of course, even her mentors had always told her that to be an actor, you had to open yourself up to criticism, like any other artist - but something still rang hollow in her. Was she really good enough, to begin with?

That all changed, if momentarily, when she got cast in one of Director Calliwell's new plays. Having climbed up to the position of lead actress in a snap, she finally found herself at the pinnacle of what she wanted all along - though her self-doubt remained.

Angelika is determined not to squander the chance that was given to her. But she can't help but get distracted, when the new director's assistant walks into her dressing room with a sheepish smile and a tray of baked muffins...
