Clothing Style

Fathom really does not like shirts, and particularly he really hates sleeves. He'll usually go without one if he can get away with it, otherwise he tends to wear open vests or tank tops. His favorite top is a somewhat tattered brown leather vest. The most he'll compromise with are short sleeves, but if he's forced to wear long sleeves he'll likely tear them off the second you take your eyes off him. Fathom hates formal-wear or anything too stuffy, so almost everything he owns is casual. He mostly wears only jeans, usually mildly tattered ones, or shorts if the weather allows. However, even if it's snowing outside he'll still refuse to wear sleeves. For footwear, he prefers a pair of shin-length black boots, mostly because they're the most durable pair he has, but he'll sometimes wear regular running shoes or sandals. Sometimes he'll ironically wear socks with sandals to annoy his friends (because even he thinks they're a dumb combo).

Fathom doesn't go anywhere without his maroon colored scarf, which he usually wears as a belt. It is rather worn out and has traces of faded bloodstains on it from binding wounds in the past. He also rarely takes off the gold medallion he was given by his mother, which is from a set of 13 that was distributed to the rest of his family. Although he has no contact with them now, he wears the medallion all the time. He usually wears a black choker as well that matches the chokers that his band mates wear.

Personality

Fathom is an irreverent and aggressive troublemaker who resorts to violence quickly if not reined in by others. He has very little sense or morals and cares little about rules or authority, so he tends to be rather confrontational, easily provoked, and is rather difficult to reason with at times unless you're someone he actually cares about. He seems to enjoy being a jerk and tends to purposely be rude and unhelpful toward others just to annoy and inconvenience them, although he is slightly less so around his friends or people he respects. He doesn't mind lying about things, but when he's honest he's very blunt about it if he's not being sarcastic. Fathom can be incredibly irresponsible and reckless, and he rarely thinks things through ahead of time when left to his own devices. He is also impatient and can be rather selfish at times, but he behaves a little better around his friends and can typically be nagged into being more responsible (sometimes).

Alone Fathom can be a thoroughly horrible person, but he's mellowed out quite a bit since moving in with Conner's family. He's still a jerk, but with the people he's bonded with he's not malicious in the slightest and wouldn't do anything to harm them. Since he's obviously the most physically imposing person in the household, it would be very easy to simply threaten and intimidate his way into getting what he wants, but he doesn't have any motivation to do so and just rolls with things more easily around them. However, he is viciously protective of the people he bonds with, so he will have no remorse tearing apart anyone who threatens them. He tends to do a lot of inconvenient or inconsiderate things simply because he wasn't brought up to have particularly strong manners in any sense, but he doesn't intentionally try to upset those close to him and is capable of correcting his behavior if prompted to do so, so he's at least not a lost cause.

Although normally confident in himself and totally unabashed in whatever he does, Fathom gets uncharacteristically quiet and solemn when on the topic of his past involving his family. He never felt particularly accepted in his blood family, so he fully considers Conner's family and their band to be his "true" family now. He was for the most part just afraid of most of his other siblings, and he fully accepted the fact that he was a mistake and just an inconvenience/unwanted burden on them. As a child he tended to stay out of everyone's way to avoid upsetting them with his presence, and he clung to the few who openly accepted and supported him. Fathom also acknowledges he likely ruined the family through his actions that led him to running away, and to this day he sometimes muses that it probably would've been better if he had let himself get killed instead. Even after reconciling with his family, he still obviously has trouble accepting their forgiveness since he doesn't particularly believe he deserves it. He loves his mother with all his heart and hates that he hurt her so badly, so he is unusually passive and cooperative with her and his siblings the few times he's had the opportunity to meet with them again.

Backstory

Fathom was born the youngest of 11, and he came to see himself as “the mistake child” of the family, which a small handful of his family members seemed to confirm with him. As a child he tended to be ignored by most of his family, save for his older brother Marquis, and he developed a fear of most of his siblings and parents since they were frequently hostile or dismissive of him. He feared his mother since he only seemed to catch her while in her bad moods, mostly because she was stressed from raising so many children, and he feared his father since he was annoyed by how many children they had and would regularly threaten to eat him whenever they crossed paths. Since they lived in a very large coastline estate, Fathom found it easy to keep to himself. However, after a few years of mostly being raised by Marquis, his mother became aware of how much she was neglecting him and became very affectionate with him. Fathom enjoyed this time with his mother, although he was still a little afraid of her, yet she was very adamant with her husband about not allowing him to eat their son, so he felt safer around her.

At the age of 8, Fathom accidentally contributed to his father's death and fled from his home to avoid his pursuing brothers. He doesn't like to elaborate on the situation, but he seems to take all the blame for it. He wandered across Aaquanixie until he was snatched up by traveling demons and was nearly sold on the Blacc Marquette in Daliarivon. There he met Oskar Zweiger, who used his connections with the Blacc Marquette's owner, Spite Despite, to keep Fathom off the market. With Oskar and Spite's help, Fathom was able to live a low key life on Emdrica before traveling to Taliac to find Oskar again years later.

Fathom eventually found the Zweigers at the age of 13 and became friends with Conner. He ended up saving Conner's life on one occasion, and the two have treated each other like brothers ever since. He would frequently encounter them as they traveled across the US, and after taking a few years for himself, Fathom found the Zweigers again at the age of 17 and was invited to live with them. Along his travels, Fathom had picked up a liking for drumming due to hanging around the musically inclined Conner, and he joined Conner along with his cousin, Volkmar, in making music in a small band that gained a healthy following online. Their career took off rather quickly after recruiting Jasper Moflin and later Lee Schmedrick.

 Trivia:

  • Fathom is the only member of Etrukan Truth besides Volkmar whom I named myself. Conner, Jasper, and Lee's names were picked by a friend of mine, and Volkmar was created long before the rest of the band was. Fathom was the only "new" member I created that I named myself.
    • His last name is obviously a play on the word "Shark" because... he is a shark. XP He's also pretty likely to shank someone with a sharp object, to be honest.
    • Fathom is a reference to the WoW dungeon, Blackfathom Depths, since it's a water themed place. I figured sticking with the shark/water theme would be a good idea.
  • Fathom used to frequently refer to Conner by his last name, Zweiger, when they were still getting to know each other. Conner still refers to Fathom by his last name more often than not, but Fathom has gotten into the habit of using Conner's first name instead now that they've known each other for so many years.
  • Fathom doesn't like it when people call him by his first name unless he's already close with them. He doesn't dislike his first name in any sense, but he doesn't like having that level of "intimacy" with just anyone and feels it's reserved for only certain people.
    • He prefers to be referred to by his last name, partially to keep his first name reserved for only close friends, and also because he feels like it gives him a closer connection to his family name than he actually has (since he is estranged and likely disowned).
    • Oskar and Lee are the only people in the household who consistently refer to him by his first name.
  • The large bite scars on his shoulder and arm are from when his father tried to kill/eat him.
  • The small bite scars on his hand are self inflicted from when he was a child. His teeth were growing in, and his mother snapped at him for teething on various objects in the house. He was afraid of making her mad by chewing on anything else, so he resorted to gnawing on his own hand until she made him stop and gave him a healthier alternative.
  • Fathom's original concept had him a lot more jerky toward his band mates, but he's mellowed out over time. He's still a little jerky, but he actively tries to behave a little better around them.
  • His personality in his original iteration was also kind of homophobic, because it seemed fitting for the "jerk" character who was supposed to be rude and offensive toward others. Now he's hopelessly aching for Conner to stop being straight. Funny how things work out that way, huh boyo?
    • His original version would get really defensive if anyone implied he was doing anything that could even remotely be perceived as "sort of gay." Now he's frustrated that Conner doesn't seem to register Shank might be "sort of gay" for him. XP
    • I mean, who am I kidding, Shank was probably sort of gay the entire time even when I was purposely writing him to not be. If you are constantly insisting your best friend has to wear skinny jeans to keep the cosmos in balance, then you're probably aching for that booty.
  • Has carried Conner through the snow on multiple occasions because Conner is a huge wimp that can't handle the cold at all. Shank would even carry him through the snow while he was wearing shorts and sandals.
  • He doesn't drink it every day, but Fathom does enjoy a cup of coffee every once in a while. He prefers it to be very bitter.
  • Is dominantly right handed, but he's not entirely uncoordinated with his left hand.
  • Met Conner while practicing guitar, and Conner approached to talk with him a bit and ended up giving him a few pointers. Fathom hasn't mentioned that the guitar was stolen at the time, and he was just messing around with it in the park when Conner noticed him.
    • Fathom actually can play the guitar rather well now, but it's not his preferred instrument.
    • Shank has noted that he immediately developed a crush on Conner from this meeting, mostly noting he was just too damn charming, especially his smile and laugh.
  • The event in which Fathom saved Conner's life involved two men pretending to be police officers "arresting" Conner while he was walking home in the evening. This happened the same day that the two of them met in the park earlier that afternoon.
    • The two men pulled Conner into their vehicle and drove him to a secluded area, but Fathom witnessed this and followed them on foot.
    • The two then took Conner out of the car and took turns beating him up. Conner still has no idea who these men were or what they wanted, but they mentioned it was "payback" for something his father apparently did in the past. Fathom managed to catch up to them before they decided to finish Conner off, and he killed both of them.
    • Although Conner was terrified of what had just happened and the fact that Fathom could kill two grown men while unarmed, he was obviously grateful to him for saving his life. He didn't have the courage to ask Fathom how exactly he did it then, but obviously now Conner knows about Fathom's demonic strength.
    • Conner and his family quickly left the area following this event, knowing there would be an investigation into these mysterious murders once their bodies were found. Fathom also left the area and has never been linked to the incident.
  • Fathom is a little frustrated by the lack of variety in seafood in Nebraska, so he usually ends up looking around at specialty marketplaces to find different kinds of saltwater fish to try.
    • He's also the reason why Conner has recently gotten into sushi.
    • "What the fuck is a catfish?"
  • His favorite video games are Guitar Felon and Hearkening of Obligation (HoO).
    • He has to be really careful to not get too worked up by either game because he might just crush the controllers in his hands if he gets too tense.
  • Fathom takes a shower everyday, not necessarily because he cares about being super hygienic, but because he likes to keep himself hydrated in some manner. He sometimes only goes into the shower to rinse off if he doesn’t necessarily need to use shampoo or anything else yet.
  • When submerged in water for longer than a few minutes, his skin will take on a gray-ish color, and black markings will appear in various places on his body. It's something that all the sharks in his family do when their skin reacts to water, and his skin will go back to normal a few minutes after leaving the water.
    • The fin ridges on his arms and legs may also become more apparent, although he has some control over it and can prevent them from coming out if he needs to hide them.
    • He cannot prevent his skin from changing color though, so he usually doesn't swim around anyone who is not privy to his shark traits.
    • His skin will not change color unless he is almost entirely submerged in water or at least treading at the surface. This means it won't change color if he's taking a shower or if it's raining.
    • His gills may instinctively open up more during showers or in rain though, so he tries not to bring too much attention to them in public.
    • Doesn’t really like swimming pools much because the chlorine is rather unpleasant in his gills, but he’ll put up with it if he really wants to swim and there are no other options.
  • Like most sharks, he will grow new teeth if he loses any. He doesn't have many multiple rows, but he does have at least one extra row of teeth behind his front row.
    • Since he goes through a lot of teeth over time, he tends to just accumulate teeth that he sometimes gives to people if they ask. He'll also sometimes make jewelry like necklaces or bracelets out of them if he needs a quick gift to give someone.
    • One time he ripped out one of his own teeth with his bare hands just to show Linsey she didn’t need to buy any shark teeth while at some souvenir store. “Why would you buy them when you can just take one of these? They grow back so fast, watch...”
  • Is typically a very messy person and would be a horrible roommate if Conner didn't constantly nag him to pick up after himself.
  • Is the type to drink straight out of the carton from the fridge if people aren't around to catch him in the act.
  • Eats all the leftovers in the house if nobody specifically claims them, and even then he might still eat them if they don't eat it quickly enough.
  • Particularly enjoys cold leftover pizza.
  • Typically has to order his own pizzas or at least a half for himself since he loves anchovies and no one else in the household does, except for Jasper, but he’s too shy to argue for them when no one else likes them.
    • His second choices are usually sausage, pepperoni, or bacon, which is a little easier to coordinate with the other members of the household.
  • His mother has mentioned she named him Fathom both because of the measurement of water and also because she couldn't fathom how she and Ragnarok accidentally had another baby, since he was child #11.
    • He's mentioned a few times that he was the mistake child. He pretends it doesn’t bother him, but obviously it does in some manner.
  • For the longest time, most of his friends had no idea how many siblings Fathom had since he never referred to any of them by name. He'd just say "my brother" or "my sister" did something when telling an anecdote of some kind. Most of them knew he had at least more than one brother and sister, but a lot of them were under the impression he just had an older brother than did all sorts of things instead of 8 older brothers who all did wildly different things.
  • He sort of tries to act better when around Conner especially, but he doesn't always understand why certain things are wrong due to his shaky moral compass.
    • It's very common for Conner to inform him whatever he's doing or about to do is illegal, and then Fathom will express incredulously how anything could possibly get accomplished if so many damn things are illegal.
    • He doesn't always understand why things like property damage,  assault, or murder are illegal in his new environment, but he at least tries to adjust... sort of.
    • It's likely that his home environment of a rather "mafia-like" family has made him believe anything can be done as long as you can force your way into getting away with it.
  • He takes enjoyment in violent activities such as fighting and breaking things, but he's not especially sadistic (or at least not more than you'd expect). He doesn't take particular enjoyment in seeing others suffer unless they have wronged him first, but he does enjoy inflicting pain or destruction on other things in general.
  • Has broken numerous lamps in the house, sometimes intentionally. There’s a particular table in the living room that always has new a lamp set out on it just because it winds up getting broken and replaced so frequently.
    • He has thrown this lamp at Lee out of anger on multiple occasions. Fathom never actually tries to hit Lee with a thrown lamp, nor has he ever actually hit him with one. It’s more of a display of anger in his general direction rather than an attempt to harm.
  • Fathom has some mental problems that he likely inherited from his father, although he seems mostly unaware of them. He very easily "triggers" on things that even mildly provoke him, and his demonic aura will suddenly flare up and send him into a bloodlust. When this happens, he seems to just snap randomly and will viciously attack anyone nearby. He tends to lose mental consciousness of his actions during this and doesn't remember what he does when he triggers, and his only awareness of the incident is seeing the aftermath and having a severe headache.
    • When around Conner he is much less likely to trigger fully. His presence seems to suppress his demonic aura and often keeps him in control before he can trigger. If he does trigger on anything it is usually momentary, and he barely even notices it happens except for the mild headache that usually starts to form.
    • When he triggers, his pupils appear to constrict and he becomes very tense, although when around Conner this usually only lasts a few seconds.
    • He has no idea this issue is something that quite a few of his family members deal with and just thinks he gets frequent headaches, which he takes medication for but gets annoyed when they don't have much effect. Obviously medication from Taliac isn't designed to deal with something like demonic auras.
    • He attributes the mindless violence he commits without his full consciousness to just his violent nature, and he tends to reject any suggestion that he might have a more complicated problem than just that. He just seems to accept that maybe he's just a fucked up, violent person and there's nothing he can do about it.
    • After he reconciles with his family, they inform him about the demonic instability that was likely inherited from their father. A handful of his siblings also struggle with this, but since they were aware of it, they were able to get better help/support for it.
    • Following this, Cyan refers him into getting a specific prescription for the condition to better suppress sudden demonic aura flare-ups. He finds it easier to keep a level head and not have so many triggering-episodes afterward.
  • His favorite color is maroon, which is evident in his scarf/sash color.
    • Fathom also used to have a maroon colored plushie shark while he was a child, although it was obviously left behind when he ran away from home. It was his favorite toy while growing up.
  • His favorite animal is oddly enough not sharks. He finds other kinds of fish to be more interesting, especially deep sea fish.
  • All of his band mates claim that he makes really good omelets.
    • They also happen to be his favorite breakfast food along with bacon, but he likes eggs prepared in a lot of different ways too.
  • Tends to snack on chips a lot, especially barbecue flavored ones or ones made with sea salt.
  • If at an Italian restaurant (which he only goes to if someone else drags him along), he's likely to order something like ravioli or pizza. He doesn't like having to wrangle up smaller pasta noodles.
  • Tends to listen to mostly metal and rock music, along with obviously the type of music that Etrukan Truth performs. He does have a weakness for songs that remind him of the shanties he'd hear frequently while growing up in Aaquanixie.
  • Fathom once asked Volkmar about him wearing a spiked choker every day all of sudden, and he explained it was a gift from Adeleida and his friends from juvi were all wearing them as some token of friendship. Fathom later noticed Jasper seemed to like the idea of that, and also picked up on the fact that Jasper felt antsy about his own choker since it was one of the few bindings of his that he couldn't easily hide. Fathom then suggested they all wear one so Jasper wouldn't feel so self conscious, which seemed to cheer him up. This is why each of the members of Etrukan Truth wears a matching choker.
    • For a while he was under the impression that Lee wasn't into the idea, which started a few arguments between him and Fathom (although they argued enough normally), but they seemed to mellow out toward each other once Fathom realized Lee actually did wear one, but it was usually covered by his high collars or cravats.
  • As a child, Fathom was actually pretty timid and shy, mostly because he considered his parents and siblings to be rather scary and the house was frequently loud and overwhelming. He tended to stay out of everyone's way and hide when anyone approached.
    • He was closest with his older brother, Marquis, since he would look after Fathom and make sure he was well taken care of when their mother was too busy or exhausted to distribute her attention among all of them. He also was somewhat close with his sister, Cyan.
    • Fathom grew rather close with his mother after his "teething" incident, since it made her realize she wasn't spending nearly enough time looking after him and tending to his needs. She started coddling him a little more after that, which he obviously appreciated.
    • Fathom was very clingy with his mother from this point on until he ran away from home. He still thinks very fondly of her and regrets disappointing and hurting her by what he did.
    • After reconciling with his family, Fathom tends to be uncharacteristically quiet and somewhat awkward while interacting with his family members. He's not sure how to interact with them and doesn't really want to disappoint them anymore.
  • Fathom never hated his father in any sense, but obviously they were never close. He simply feared him, but he regrets killing him and wishes it didn't turn out that way.
  • He and Linsey sort of "had a thing" when they were slightly younger teens, but they wouldn't describe it as them dating. They're still a little on-and-off with their relationship, but they wouldn't say they're romantic with each other in any sense and are more of friends-with-benefits.
    • It's entirely likely that Fathom and Linsey's relationship will only be physical rather than romantic, but they don't seem to have a problem with that. As adults he tends to joke that Linsey is “way hornier than he is” and that he is like a “reverse booty call” for when she wants some excitement. Fathom thinks it’s amusing and not that deep.
    • On the other hand, Fathom is much more interested in being romantically and/or physically involved with Conner if only he'd stop being so oblivious.
    • Linsey is already in the know about Fathom's feelings toward Conner and tends to be the person he vents to about the sexual tension.
    • Fathom isn't necessarily frustrated with Conner for not feeling the same way back, because if he doesn't feel that way, then it's fine. Fathom's only annoyed that Conner doesn't even seem to notice his romantic feelings at all, although he admits it's also a bit amusing and he doesn't lose sleep over it.
  • Both of them would deny it, but Fathom and Lee have a whole lot of sexual tension between them and all their arguments.
    • Fathom tends to remark how much he dislikes Lee or how he'd like to pound his pretty face in, but honestly he'd probably never actually hurt Lee.
    • He's thrown a few objects at him in anger before, but he's never actually hit him with anything.
    • Fathom has only (intentionally) hurt Lee once, and it was shortly after Lee first moved into the household with them. They didn't know that Lee was a Vey yet, and Lee had been starving for several weeks prior and had survived by eating animals (and maybe some people? He's never confirmed it) while on his own. Lee didn't want to ask them to buy more raw meat for him to eat, because he didn't want to ask any more from them, so he essentially starved himself until he couldn't handle it anymore. Conner made the mistake of following Lee outside at night, since he was curious why Lee did that every few nights or so. Apparently Lee was going out to find something else to eat, and he was so thoroughly starved that he couldn't stop himself from attacking Conner when he realized he was following him. Fathom managed to get to them before Lee could hurt him, and he had taken Oskar's gun just in case. He didn’t necessarily want to kill him, so he shot Lee in the shoulder, which gave him enough time to rush over and pull him off of Conner.
    • Although he'll never say so, Fathom feels really bad about shooting Lee and never wants to hurt him again. It was mostly because in the moment, Fathom knew that Lee wasn’t a normal human but didn’t know he was a zombie, so he freaked out when he shot Lee in the shoulder and his entire arm fell off.
  • Fathom tends to struggle with not scaring Jasper because he tends to speak harshly or bluntly out of habit. He tends to make Jasper cry a lot on accident, but he's also gotten into the habit of genuinely apologizing for it.
    • Jasper can be a little clingy with Fathom, but he tries not to get annoyed or comment about it because he knows Jasper would take it to heart. Jazz tends to climb on him a lot, especially when stressed and feeling the need to distance himself from other things, so Fathom typically doesn’t question him about it.
    • Fathom has gotten pretty good at catching Jasper before he can run away in fear from anything (social interactions, embarrassment, nervousness...). He tends to just sweep him up in a hug and then take both of them out of the situation so Jasper can settle down with someone instead of running off on his own.
  • Fathom wouldn't say that he and Volkmar are particularly close, but they know enough about each other from living under the same roof that they probably would qualify as close friends. They just don't have a lot in common aside from being in the same band.
    • Fathom can annoy Volkmar rather frequently because he's pretty lazy/lax during band practice, and Fathom always refers to him as "the Diva" due to how high maintenance he is.
    • Regardless, Fathom tries to look out for Volkmar because he knows how much Conner loves his cousin. So he sort of views Volkmar as a moody little brother.
  • Fathom has always looked up to and respected Oskar for what he's done to help him throughout his life after running away from home. It's the primary reason why he tends to be cooperative with him when Fathom normally doesn't listen to anyone.
    • He's a little embarrassed by it, but Fathom has noticed since he's grown up that he kind of thinks Oskar is a hot dad.
    • He swears he not trying to have the hots for the entire Zweiger family, it's just a coincidence.
  • He's had several one-night-stands with random ladies he's encountered shortly after settling down in Omaha. He still sometimes goes out to hook up with someone, but he doesn't do it as frequently as he used to. He tends to gravitate back toward Linsey when he doesn’t feel like seeking out new women, but he also doesn’t want to stick to her exclusively when he feels like being with someone. Casual sex is just something he likes every once in a while.
  • Always has to be the dominant one in any physical relationships, and he’s typically rough in bed.
    • It's entirely likely he could be vers, but only if Conner ever decides to stop being straight. He’s not willing to be submissive to just anyone.
  • Fathom is not ticklish in the slightest. He would probably say that his skin is too rough and he's too rugged to feel anything.
  • Hates prudes, especially those who tell him to wear a shirt.
    • Has flexed out of shirts on multiple occasions just to prove a point. And if it's not tight enough to flex through, he'll just rip it by hand.
  • Since he usually has his chest exposed because he doesn't like shirts, he tends to keep his abdominal muscles flexed in public so people don't see his "non-flexed" state.
    • Probably has confidence issues about people not seeing him in his "prime" state, and he only really relaxes when he's at home. He considers it the perfect workout each day, and he's said that he hardly even needs to try anymore since he's so used to just flexing out of habit.
    • If anyone is holding their phone in his presence at home, it's entirely likely he'll habitually tense up to flex his muscles. He doesn't want anyone taking his picture when he's not looking his best physically. The rest of him could look like a disaster, but he's of the mindset of "either look at the muscles or don't look at me at all."
    • If you take a picture of him that gives off the impression that he's not always displaying his muscles (you know, like a normal person), he might just crush your phone/camera with his bare hands before you can send it anywhere. And if you were to send that picture anywhere, he would crush your skull instead.
  • Even though he was offered the guest bedroom when first moving in with the Zweigers, Fathom always tends to sleep on one of the couches in the house instead, either the one in the living room or the one in the basement.
    • Jasper also tends to sleep on either of the couches, but he always lies across the top of them rather than on the actual cushions. They don't usually pick the same couch to crash on, but sometimes they will if Jasper is feeling particularly antsy and wants the extra security. Fathom doesn't really care if Jasper is perched over him on the couch and rarely seems to notice he's there at all.
    • Sometimes he'll notice if Jasper has a nightmare though, and he'll either let him be and hope it passes or try to wake him up if he's restless for too long.
    • Jasper occasionally has fallen off the top of the couch and landed on him if his sleep is particularly restless, but Fathom doesn't seem to mind. It's up to Jasper if he wants to climb back up afterward or just stay there, and Fathom seems fine with either.
  • Sleeps in just his boxers unless it's winter, then he'll probably wear a tank top maybe if it's especially cold.
    • He'd probably sleep naked if he had his own bedroom, but since he's always sleeping on a couch he figures he should wear something so no one has to deal with seeing him by chance.
  • Broke the front door once when he forgot his house key and didn't feel like waiting for someone else to come home. Obviously he was chewed out for it and hasn't done it since.
    • Has figured out how to manually lift the garage door without breaking it to get into the house instead if needed. Almost broke the garage door once in practice.
  • Will steal your fries. You'd have to stab his hand to stop him, and even then he'd probably tear your hand off in retaliation. Just don't eat fries in his presence.
    • Will do the same with popcorn.
  • Old Charahub blurb: "A vicious and unpredictable problem child on the run from his family and currently mooching off his band members' family."
  • He might be exaggerating, but he’s apparently told Linsey that the sound of Conner singing is enough to make him hard. And that’s a little problematic since Conner sings all the time.
    • He’s also told Linsey that it is both great and excruciating when he’s on long drives with Conner because Conner always sings to any song he knows and likes on the radio or his playlists. And it’s kind of awkward to hide a boner from your best friend for an entire car ride, and even more awkward when it’s not just the two of them in the car.
    • Fathom has stated he will never drive anywhere too far away with Conner because Conner will inevitably turn on music, he will sing, and Fathom will get extremely distracted.
  • Fathom likes going on regular walks around the town or through the woods around the Zweigers' home. He enjoys the fresh air and the space to do whatever.
  • He doesn‘t like to talk about his time living in Emdrica, but he has mentioned he lived in an orphanage for a while and also bounced between several foster homes until he ran away again. He wouldn’t say there was any problem with the orphanage in general or any of the foster homes, but he does say that the experience is what turned him into the “delinquent” he is now. Supposedly he was influenced by other kids to grow out of his timidness in the worst way, and his demonic aura apparently got much stronger by being around other demons in the orphanage and in foster homes. His behavior made him a difficult child to handle, which is why he never found a permanent home.
