Terry Lovejoy's Links
Distant cousins. Terry doesn't usually have the time to visit Rex, but when he does, it's usually to eat everything he's made.
They're cousins. Rex's mother always tells him how great Terry is and his successful life but the only thing Rexander is impressed with is drinking a gallon mug of coffee in one go.
[Rival] If Reed hadn't come and swooped in, Terry would have been the band director. Now instead of teaching what he STUDIED to do, he babysits fourth graders and catches all of their colds!
[Rival?] He doesn't see the teacher very often, but when he does, the man is glaring at him. He's never interacted with him and doesn't know what he's done.
They work at the same school, but with different grades. Hope uses his sofa, so Terry flaunts his award. He doesn't know how he got it either, but he loves seeing the pretty boy get all worked up over it.
They teach in the same elementary school, but through different grades. Their classrooms are next to each other. Yet, he comes to his classroom sometimes to sleep on his couch and using his high-end coffee machine.
Hope doesn't dislike him, but he is definitely indifferent because he doesn't understand how he became teacher of the year.
But shouldn't he be blaming the other teachers and the school board for such a thing? Eitherway, Hope thinks that he deserves the reward.
Chanse usually buys lunch so Terry thinks he's a swell guy. Likes to go to lunch with him just so he can order a lot of desserts.
Despite his best friend doesn't appreciate Terry's company, Chanse thinks the complete opposite. He treats Terry as a friend by taking him out to places during his free time, like buying him coffee at the nearest cafe and buy him desserts and other foods.
He doesn't tell him, but he often takes Terry to a few restaurants here and there every time Hope isn't available (since he's spending time with Emery).
Terry doesn't like to think back to his student teaching years because it reminds him of when he was hopeful, although he DOES recall there being a boy that always confessed his undying love for him every day he was there. He can't even remember the kid's name, but sometimes he'll wonder what happened to the wannabe Casanova.
Mr. Lovejoy was a student teacher helping at the middle school Jackson went to, and was also the thief's first crush. It's very likely that Terry was the one who made Jackson realize his attraction to older people. The thief still fondly remembers the teacher and someday hopes to see him again, now old enough to properly woo him.
It's a little bit of a drive from the school, but Terry finds it worth it to stop by the shop and get some food. There's only one guy that works there, and he's very nice, if not loud and childish. He finds the guy endearing, and his food is delicious. In fact, there are many times when Terry's colds are better immediately after a meal!
He just adores Terry! Even if he's quite introverted, sluggish and gloomy during the whole time of his restaurant. He recognizes Terry right away because the man comes in very often to order his meals - Kon always gives him a little more food than the usual amount only because he gives us the peaceful atmosphere that he usually prefers.
Terry admits it, Aysun's beautiful and classy. That's why he hates him with every fiber of his being.
Aysun's been with enough people to know when he's hated for stealing someone. He finds it cute that Terry thinks he's trying to steal Rowen. Maybe that's why he never tells him the truth. Or probably because Terry doesn't believe him whenever he TRIES to.
Archaeus and the story he's revolved around was written by Terry back when he was eleven. Naturally it was horrendous in every angle, and thus Terry abandoned it, hoping to never have to relive such awful mistakes. Then he found himself face-to-face with his story's protagonist. At first he assumed it was an old student pulling a prank, maybe learning about his story and pretending to be the guy, but as time passed Terry learned that this was no actor, this was the actual character. He has no idea what's happened but feels a sense of obligation taking care of the... character. At least until he can figure out how to erase this mess. Permanently.
Archaeus considers everyone his fan, yet he feels something different with Terry. It's like... those NPC guardians that offer housing. He can't help but feel that there's something to the tired teacher that's very important, and thus the character is determined to stick around and figure out just what it is.
Now Terry knows he can get real tired, and he knows there have been times that he's just blacked out and gone on auto-pilot mode. But he draws the line at being told he wears a fox mask and does handstands. He needs to get to the bottom of this, and that DOESN'T mean sleeping a full 8 hours.
Tori absolutely loves possessing Terry. The guy is so tired and boring but has so, so, SO much potential to be fun! And to be a teacher to little kids? Little chaos-bringers? What better body than that??
[Best Friend] They met long ago on an OC making website. Despite Terry's obvious embarrassment for his hobbies back then, he still kept in contact with Milkfather. Although if he's being honest, he thought the name was just a username, not real. He also isn't sure if that guy's a mobster or not.
[Best Friend] Emil expected Terry to be much different when they first met but no matter what, he never had the thought of stopping their friendship there. Milkfather decided that he'd hang around him more often in person rather than online by spending time with him in his classroom.
He also plays along and claims that he is a mobster - just to poke fun at the poor teacher just for his amusement.
[Best Friends] Long ago during college Terry met Glen in a gas station. Both were beaten up by finals, and Terry insisted he eat the burritos as well as other offered food for excellent comfort food. Glen did, and thus began their friendships. Years later they still keep in contact, and they both venture out to explore more gas stations and compare their foods while ranting about students.
[Best Friends] Although they don't look it, Glen and Terry are very close. They had actually gone to the same college! And it was there that their friendship blossomed. It's grown over the years so that they can be exhausted together, and they meet frequently to watch TV, eat trash food, and rant about awful kids.
[Rival] Even if he couldn't get the high school band director position, Terry was (somewhat) content with being the elementary music teacher. He'd studied enough of it, he liked the kids enough. Fat chance. Mia already had the job, and the staff was insistent he teach regular classes since he could handle kids better. Terry reluctantly agreed under the promise that once a music teacher position was open he'd get it. And he waited for years.
Mia works at the same elementary school as Terry as the music teacher, and her classroom is right next to his. She likes to try to get his opinion on what sort of things to do with the students because of his music education background, though he always seems a bit...grumpy. Maybe it's because of the cold?
Never in a million years would Terry think he'd befriend a mob boss; it was an even less likely chance that he'd be the one person he could lean on. When things took a turn for the worst in his family, Taka was the one who helped him out of the hole, reassuring him through the pain. Now the two seem fairly close, even if it doesn't always look that way.
Taka originally lingered around Terry's classroom in order to get Rowen in his group, but when something happened to the teacher he took it upon himself to help him out. He knew better than anyone how lonely and painful that spot he's in could be, so he helped him out of it. Nowadays he respects Terry and makes sure just about everyone in his gang sends their kids to this school.
[Related] Owen's uncle. Terry was grateful that Owen's just as lazy as he is when he learned that he'd basically be the third parent for the kid. Owen's quiet and keeps to himself, but he's a good guy. Although Terry feels guilty for wrapping him up in the mob world, he didn't think Owen would stick to it like glue.
[Related] Terry's nephew. Because Terry was the closest that lived next to Owen's parents, he'd often be stuck as the babysitter whenever the two would leave for a small honeymoon/vacation. Half of the time it was because Owen preferred staying at home instead of a dumb adventure. He loves his uncle and definitely appreciates how alike they are in terms of laziness. He only wishes he could write like him.
Link is Terry's primary doctor that he always goes to when he's sick, though honestly, at this point he feels like there's nothing even the doc can do to help him with these constant colds. At the very least it's good to catch up with him now and then and talk about soda. They even have matching jugs.
Whether or not Terry listens to him, it's not like he's gonna get any better. The constant flu and cold medicines he suggests don't work somehow but he'll make sure with that the teacher won't get any worse than that.
Every once in a while they'd be together with their matching soda jugs, with nothing professional in mind.
[Lovers] Terry knew Alena from her being the school's nurse. With how sick he constantly is, they practically make time for each other every day for recovery. Alena's always been so sweet and helpful, though, never irritated with him.
Someone was beautiful and kind like her, though, it was obvious to Terry that she would rather have eyes for literally any other staff members at school that was younger, better looking, and all around better. Imagine his surprise when she said yes to a date.
He still feels like she's WAY out of his league, but he likes being around her. She balances out his pessimism.
[Lovers] Prior to meeting Terry, Alena did not feel an attraction of any sort towards other people. All it took was a couple of visits from the exhausted man for the nurse to become interested in Terry, and then the interest turned into a full-on crush. She was absolutely enamored with the teacher, who allowed her to take care of him whenever he wasn't feeling well. She found that really cute and couldn't wait to go to school because of him. When he asked her out on a date, she felt something throb in her chest, an unfamiliar sensation that practically forced her to say "yes" with excitement. At long last, she could be with Terry! She could finally have him all to herself....
[Employee] Oooh, Terry doesn't like George. He'd accepted the job back when he was younger because it was a job, he was promised that director position, and, admittedly, George was good with his words. The minute Reed got that job though, ooh. Terry's asked about it all the time, and what does he get in return? Teacher of the Year award, sheesh...
Although he hates him, at least George clearly takes his side whenever there's bullshit going around.
[Boss] Terry! What a swell guy. Sure, he'd have made a great band director, but the way he handled substituting with those elementary kids was phenomenal. With them being shorthanded all the time with elementary staff, he knew he had to get Terry on board as one of their teachers. Don't worry, just a little longer and you'll get that band director position for sure! In the meantime he tries to sweeten the deal by helping him more than he does with other teachers. Can't risk this guy leaving.
You'd think a guy that boasts about wanting justice for the educational system would see the glaring problem of an overworked teacher that's not even MEANT to teach elementary. What a joke.
The times Eddy has visited the school Terry's at he's been curious about such a foul-looking teacher. He even looked into it after their first meeting, but was surprised at the good results and testimonials. If only he could clean up a little.
