Rylan was boy adopted and raised by scientists, as he was an orphan who lost his family in the midst of war.

Rylan has a childhood past of being bullied for being a nerd. He later becomes popular and hides his geekiness and genius related hobbies like researching. However due to an unfortunate incident, he lost his arm and his savior Pierson made him a robotic arm. It was because of Pierson, he eventually became a scientist. However Pierson dies shortly after the citizens rebelled against the military order.

As a scientist, he meets Pristina - Pierson's younger sister - who is smart and older than him, and not afraid of hiding her intellect because she's prideful like her brother Pierson. And begins to admire her. However overtime seeing her hardworking and committed self falls in love with her.

Pristina however is too obsessed with her brother and wanting to create a time machine to alter the past and make him come back to life. Because Rylan loves Pristina, he helps her create the time machine even if his love was unrequited as he wished for her happiness.

When Pristina goes into the past she finds out how much of a jock and popular Rylan was despite how much she knew him in the future and gets him to help her save her brother in the past.
