Sera is Phina's older identical twin. She and her sister were raised as retainers of the royal Talia family and taught to be assassins as they were chosen to become the twin serpent guardians.
Water's Reverie Timeline
She had a crush on the Duke Prince Ju-Long and due to misunderstanding believed he was in love with her twin sister who was more sociable and friendly compared to her quiet self. Wanting to move on past her unrequited hidden feelings, she accepts an arranged marriage and marries the Emperor's right hand, General Ken, putting herself as Duke Prince's enemy due her husband's loyal affiliation with the Emperor.
Rebirth Timeline
Sera was sent on a mission to get rid of an enemy spy living within Talia. However after killing the spy, Sera learned of her sister's betrayal, as she betrayed the kingdom for the sake of her loved one which was the enemy spy she killed. Sera went after her sister and killed her to protect Talia and Talia's secrets, choosing her kingdom over her own family.
Talia had begun experimenting with the lifestream and reviving individuals. Phina was revived in this process but with a loss of her memories. So thus Sera watches over her sister as if her sister remembered her past, then she must be eliminated.

Sera is a short form of Seraphina.
This name derives from the Hebrew “śārāf > śərāfîm”, meaning “fiery ones, shining snake, flaming, glowing”. A Seraph is a type of celestial or heavenly being in the Abrahamic Religions. literally "burning ones", the word Seraph is normally a synonym for serpents when used in the Hebrew bible; A seminal passage in the book of Isaiah (6.1-8).
USAGE: English (Rare), German (Rare), Late Roman. Feminine form of the Late Latin name Seraphinus, derived from the biblical word seraphim which was Hebrew in origin and meant "fiery ones". The seraphim were an order of angels, described by Isaiah in the Bible as having six wings each. - In legend the twin serpent guardians guarded the dragon (and dragon's son) however they always fought with one another creating peace and chaos.
