Illusion Master

Personality

As the goddess presiding over illusions, Bast-Nefret has a knack for creating illusions for any reason she desires, be it for the good or bad of others or simply to amuse herself. Once she was far more self-serving in the use of her powers, but, over millennia, she tamed and learned to use her powers more sparingly and situationally. The most common use of her illusions is to disguise her appearance to new forms she creates or imitates a species she finds as she travels through dimensions, though it is typically to blend in rather than stand out. Any illusion on her appearance feels and acts real even though it in actuality is not, however, she does have a few forms that she assumes that are in fact genuine shapeshifting and very real (Kemonomimi, Anthropomorphic/Beast, Feral). She can apply illusions upon others as she desires and bestow items with the power to shape shift, though doing so means she's usually in a mood to see what kind of amusement she can find from mortal beings, though generally in good humor. She does have a bit of a trouble-making streak, though now she generally seeks to protect the mortals she comes across rather than spreading chaos as she once did. Also tasked with guiding the lost spirits of the Earth, she hears their calls and seeks them out, watching over them as they follow her and occasionally guiding them to the afterlife if the timing is right for them to move on.

Currently living among mortals, she desires to blend in and has changed her name to more suit that purpose, often introducing herself as "Sachi Hiroshima" to mortals she meets. As mortals are concerned, she is not entirely the social type and tends to avoid interactions with many unless it is for the short-term, mortal emotions being a bit overwhemling and hard to interpret for her at times, yet she is fiercely defensive of those she considers close to her and will do what she can for them in times of need. Refraining from her warrior-like tendancies anymore, she tends to avoid conflicts with others, doing what she can to contain her inner fire to keep the peace rather than lashing out into a battle. It is unlikely for her to mention her status as a goddess to anyone unles they are close to her, preferring to keep quiet about it in light of her transgressions in her past. Anymore in her life, she seeks to have fun and be comfortable around those she cares for while providing protection and comfort for them aside from the occasional light-hearted prank.

Trivia

• Her true appearance is actually very large and terrifying, standing at about 7 or so feet tall, but she only uses it when in a serious battle.
• Her look is compounded of several different animals in true Egyptian fashion: Silver fox, Egyptian Mau, Maned Wolf, Sabertooth Tiger. I often refer to her compound as a "Kitsuneko" since she is mixed of two types of foxes and cats respectively.
• Her coat colors are actually very unusual for even an Egyptian Mau, sporting a drastic black and white/cream.
• She is Bi-Sexual, but she has a preference for men. She has, in Egyptian god fashion, been involved with her identical twin sister.
• While very busty, she actually has shallow hips barely larger than her bust. Her hips are also very short since she has a long torso. This is actually based on my real-life anatomy aside from her weight.
• She created the name Sachi Hiroshima for herself after witnessing the battles and travesties taking place during the second World War. Sachi means 'bliss child' in Japanese while Hiroshima is taken directly from the city name - in honor of those who perished from the nuclear strikes.
• Sachi started out actually as my second Yu-Gi-OH! oc. The name Sachi is sort of a nickname I picked up in high school and now am commonly referred to as by my online friends.

Story

History

A long existing goddess who was forgotten with the fall of the kingdoms of Egypt, Bast-Nefret took to wandering the mortal realm of Earth, curiosity and spite filling her as she no longer had loyal followers to bring her offerings as she desired. Once finding love with a mortal human man, they were torn apart from each other tragically, only fueling her rage against most mortals. Far from a peaceful goddess, she fought with might among deities of other realms and religions, merciless in battle along side her sister Sekhet-Re, though caring for her duty of leading lost souls to walk a path with her, finding them anywhere she hears their whispers, leading them wherever she wanders. As a patron to thieves and assassins, she weaves illusions strong enough to make anyone believe they were real, even fooling others right down to pure touch and often used disguises and speed in her battles to quickly end any conflict. Yet, though she thought herself indestrucable and without flaw in the past, she soon found she was not as impervious as she believed, ending her life tragically through deep betrayal of trust. Sekhet-Re gone mad with grief over the loss of her twin and other gods in anger and anguish, a way to bring her back to the mortal plane was devised so she once again may return to her life and duties. Though her ressurection came with a price of anger and bloodlust, a deeprooted desire to exact revenge upon her death and so she caused chaos for some time with no real purpose, just acting as a rogue entity with power surging out of control. It took the sight and understanding of the devastation she could cause to realize destruction was not the path best followed.

Present

After understanding the devastation of her destructive abilities, she eventually came to understand the fragility of mortal life. In this discovery and living through the modern era, she changed her name to one to disguise her identity, yet remind her of the devastation caused in fighting: Sachi Hiroshima. In her travels, she found herself mellowing among mortals, perhaps even gaining compassion and humility from them, finding a few that she even felt accepted her as an honest friend and companion. Cherishing them deeply, bestowing gifts of her powers to them while defending them from others as the occasion arises, she enjoys their company as she tends to stick to keeping her identity quiet, alothugh she does let her abilities be known to them.

At times she wonders what she would have been like had the tragic and gruesome events of her past not occurred, but finds calm and peace in the understanding she has found following the path that was walked. With her time among her friends, she has found it difficult to understand their mortal emotions, though tries to understand to the best of her ability, doing what she can to at least see them happy and safe around her. The mundane air of daily life is more soothing to her than not, preferring the ordianry of the extraordinary unless the urge to go and experience something new arises in her on occsion. Just spending her time with those she holds dear is enough for her, though she will also take time for herself when needed and still try to perform her duties, now as a guardian deity rather than a destructive one.

Onward

From there on, she seeks to understand more about the frailty of the mortal plane, protecting that fragility from total erradication. Standing ready to fight as any need arises, she fights to protect life against any deity or entity that dares to threaten it. Yet now she holds more respect for her position as a guardian of lost souls and seeks them out further to bring them comfort in her care before helping them move on to the next life beyond.

Sekhet-Re Sachi's identical (mirrored) twin sister who has gone mad, yet fitting as she is the goddess of insanity. They do not always see each other as much anymore due to her madness and chaos, but they are still close, occassionally intimately.
