Binary was created in a lab in an attempt to create life using a digital program. The creation was successful, but was also much more volatile than the researchers thought it would be. It took the form of a cat, and proceeded to terrorize the researchers that created it. Eventually, the creation escaped the lab, and gave itself the name "Binary," which it felt matched it's form and method of creation. It also discovered pronouns, and chose to use neither male nor female pronouns, as they had no true gender being a binary code. Binary now uses they/them pronouns, which they feel matches their form the best.

They seem to lack emotion, except an odd version of mechanical responses to stimuli. They are able to mimic basic emotions, such as happiness, sadness, and anger, but it is not likely that they are truly able to feel any kind of emotion. They do seem to enjoy playing pranks on people; they have been known to mess with people's computers and other electronics for the fun of it.
