DISCLAIMER: This is a PSA, NOT an invitation to harass this individual. Do not contact this person with the intention of harassing them or you will be blacklisted from xerneas ‘s (referred to here as "Iberos") adoptables.

The following PSA is written upon educated assumptions of what transpired and may or may not be representative of the whole truth from all parties involved.

If you do business with this person, you assume all risks. This journal is for the benefit and safety of all adopt sellers/commissioners only.

All the above links were found via her public weebly page http://sta.sh/0l1v0vod5m3 , which has since then been edited. We have chosen to keep private hence the edited out Instagram name. Because her other links were public, I will not be censoring them here. Do not harass her – use this knowledge to keep yourself safe from potential chargebacks.

On February 5, Iberos was commissioned by Hatsumi to draw a custom ref sheet for an agreed upon amount of $40 http://sta.sh/01rjo9chhayf  & confirmation of payment sent http://sta.sh/0ohr0ddxhiu . On March 22, Iberos was hit with a chargeback of $40.

Iberos contacted Hatsumi the following day on March 23.

Conversations with Hatsumi about the chargeback:

Iberos started a claim against PayPal and worked together with Hatsumi to fight the chargeback. Ultimately, Iberos lost the claim despite all the evidence showing the original transaction was legitimate. On April 12, Iberos was also hit with a $20 settlement fee in addition to not getting his original $40 back.

Note: Some users were able to get their money back during the chargeback incidents, although they have not been directly contacted about the issues due to the fact their personal information may have been shared with Iberos without their consent.

Over this time, Iberos and I pieced together the evidence we had on hand. I had noticed a discrepancy between Hatsumi’s name (initials A.P.* as shown on her pre-edit weebly page and skype) and the buyer’s name listed from the PayPal chargeback (initials M.P.*). The last names were the same. I had also noticed what seemed to be Hatsumi’s age (15) listed on her tumblr : http://sta.sh/02gkek56v4az

We came to the conclusion that Hatsumi was not the account holder – which is why she had no power to reverse the chargebacks. Upon reaching this conclusion, we also figured that M.P. was Hatsumi’s mother. Iberos did ask Hatsumi if she was the M.P.* listed on PayPal, to which she answered yes. We still had our suspicions, so Iberos contacted the mother through the email listed from the chargeback to confirm this.

A lot of communication was had, but in the end the mother did not seem to understand how PayPal worked - adamantly telling Iberos to tell PayPal he had not been refunded yet - and refused to contact PayPal on iberos’ behalf. We do not believe the mother was being purposely oblivious, but that she genuinely believed Iberos had gotten his money back.

Note: We are withholding screenshots of the email exchanges and the actual email address in the interest of the mother’s privacy. You may discuss this further with Iberos for more detail.

The chargeback originally occurred because the card holder had fraudulent charges on their card (unrelated to Hatsumi’s purchases), so the bank froze the whole account all the way back to Iberos transaction with Hatsumi. Hatsumi’s mother claimed to have went through all the charges with the bank, telling the bank which ones were legitimate and which ones were fraudulent. We believe Hatsumi’s mother may have accidentally tagged Iberos’ charge as fraudulent, thus PayPal closing the case in the buyer’s favor.

The mother did not understand that PayPal will not listen to the seller in a chargeback situation. She kept showing Iberos the original charge on February 25 to “prove” Iberos had been paid, but did not understand the chargeback happened on March 22 and had not been refunded back to Iberos. She refused help for navigating through PayPal to get to the correct statement/transaction and shortly ceased contact with Iberos altogether.

Hatsumi seemed as if she really wanted to help Iberos, but due to her not being the PayPal account holder, she was unable to do anything. I believe Hatsumi was NOT trying to scam Iberos, but afraid to reveal her status as a minor AND not the account holder.

Hatsumi has not been seen or heard from on any site since all of this went down, so she may be grounded temporarily from the internet due to this whole debacle.

If you choose to do business with Hatsumi, you risk not getting your money back in the case of a chargeback due to the actual PayPal account holder supposedly not understanding how PayPal works.

Take her on as a customer at your own risk.

The commissioned piece was of an adoptable sold by rkzn, who has agreed to let Iberos sell the commission for $100USD to cover the chargeback + MYO slot price.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the matter, feel free to comment here and either Iberos or I will get back to you. If your question and/or concern needs more privacy, feel free to PM either of us.

Edit on April 27: Iberos is currently looking into posting on Artist Beware and in the PSA thread on this site.

Just for the record I was another victim. I resold them their character Antonio who was made by Ahniki on DA. The price was $100 and paypal took it all back including a chargeback fee of $20 after the resolution. Considering I had to pay a bill to paypal credit they took me by surprise by taking the money for the bill as well as the $100 from the chargeback before I was ready to pay it putting me in the negative $40 with my own bank which caused more financial damages for me to try to fix with a loan off a card all of which would've been avoided without this chargeback. I wanted to add my story here in this comment just to add support to show that this did in fact happen and the user should be trusted at one's own risk. Also Iberos is also aware that I was a victim I thank you for making this bulletin and I may be making one of my own.

Just to mention for the PSA, I was also affected by this situation, with a chargeback for $80 (+$20 chargeback fee after lack of resolution), for the resell of two characters. I can provide any evidence you'd like, if needed. (Iberos is already aware of this.)

Sure thing, can do.

I also highly advise you contact @Vespia to put it in the PSA Board in the General topic area. For those who are not your followers to see.
