I can't afford nor do I really have a desire to attend the con (I went for 11 years straight xD), but if anyone would like to have a meet-up in the city I'd love to hang! There's a lot to do around the convention center.
So Otakon is in a bit more than 3 weeks and I was wondering if anyone else will be there!

Augh it's such a great con; I miss going. There was always something to do. I lived in the game room, but I also loved walking around artist alley and the dealers' room, and the little workshops were amazing... I had a disconnect from the friends I used to travel with, and they don't go anymore anyway, so I also don't go. :( I cannot travel 9 hours by myself lmao

Pepperly Aw, hope you can come some other time! I used to love the con until I started working the dealer's room and acquired a deep disdain for all my fellow con-goers xDD It was also a whole lot friendlier when I first started attending though.

I've never worked dealers hall but I've done panels and gofer work and one time at Fanime I was a telegram deliverer

I'm debating popping up for a day just to peruse the artist alley. Not sure. I might if a friend is willing to lend me their badge for an hour or two, lmao. I'm only abt 40min away so making a daytrip of it is no big.
abakkus haha I'm about the same distance. My sister is going crazy scheduling our con visit and I'm just like... "when am I going to the dealers hall??"

yeah i usually go to cons for the AA & dealer's halls. if not to buy merch, then to hang out w friends who table. only exception is magfest, i'm absolutely in there for panels & concerts too.
abakkus yeah I spend a lot of time in AA/Dealers hall but I always make sure I go to panels too. Or I'm in a panel.
