9/18/2017:

The board of directors replied to my message and said she's concerned about this clinical instructor's behavior and that we will discuss it further.

A sigh of relief but also I'm so nervous and hate confrontation/

Had to file a complaint against my teacher, she critisized me infront of other students in the open hallway ( during a rotation)

and other people made more mistakes, ACTUAL mistakes??? and she blew them off and said it's alright!

but with me, i am "robotic" and "awkward" and she intensely watched me when I was doing my skills on the site where were doing our rotation. No one else in rotation had the same treatment ( i asked them) No constructive feedback. Just making me feel awful.

I went home and cried that night. And then I wrote up a letter after stewing over it and sent it to the board of directors also asking for an appointment to discuss other things ( saying i wasn't thinking more??)

Anyway. Super scared I did this?? Afraid I start a fire and took a huge risk. I made this complaint privately because I am afraid, but I felt in my heart I needed to start a "paper trail" incase she bullied me more.

Any of yall had to do this while in college/uni??

I did it against my classmates once but the school didn't care very much. I ended up going to a different school halfway through the year

Teachers always felt sorry for me so they didn't do much to me

What about asking your teacher politely what she meant?

Hope you'll be okay though! Good luck :)

@DarkBlueMadness

I asked for clarification and there wasn't anything really given constructively and it felt more like she wanted to pick on me for things that isn't very objective if that makes sense??

My previous CI's had been very objective with me on how to improve my weaknesses if I had communication issues or lack of skill in a procedure. This simply felt...left field ?

Also so sorry you had to change schools, hopefully everything worked out well for you

I kind of did. My professor in a big music class was mega harsh, constantly calling the students idiots. Even if he didn't mean it, we were all so exhausted mentally and emotionally. When it came to those papers they give at the end of the semester (evaluation sheets?) I just wrote, "I stopped asking for help because I was tired of being called an idiot."

Whether he knew I wrote it or not, I don't know, but he HAS gotten less harsh with students. Also because I explained that trying to break down the student to rebuild them doesn't help as nearly as much as he thinks.

The point is, I think you did the right thing. You can't let teachers/professors get away with something like that, because then they might keep doing it. At least the school board knows now, so if your professor is harsh out of revenge then they'll be more willing to back you up.
