Show me your dragon characters!

Varen's a little baby ice dragon, and he's being taken care of his "adoptive grandpa" Tymerth, who's an old molten-earth dragon. I stopped practicing drawing animals/dragons a long time ago, so I'm waaaaay rusty with drawing actual dragons... I'll have to practice some more before I can comfortably design their feral dragon forms. 

Also got some noodly dragons, Escallon and Estellia, who also need some updated art so they have more than those drawings from middle school. XD At least I finally gave Estellia a humanoid form, but I'll need to try my hand at drawing their true noodly forms again some time...

Also have some dragonoid people with no feral dragon forms. Dratto and Dratta were made when I was like in 3rd grade, and I just knew they were... dragony people, even if they didn't particularly look it. XD Thankfully I've improved enough over the years to make their revamped designs look a little more dragony. And Rath is actually from the same dragon-clan they are from, although he's like a distant descendant by a few thousand years. Rath and Estellia are partners in this dragon-rider story I'll eventually get to writing, but I have a lot of other dragon riders and dragon mounts to come up with so I have a full flight to work with. ^^; Dragony people riding actual dragons probably sounds weird, but at least they don't think it's weird. Got two more recently put together, Neithyx and this currently unnamed lady. So much work to do... but I suppose I don't really need to hurry.

first up, DRAGONS RIDING ON DRAGONS IS MY NEW FAVOURITE THING
it makes sense after reading the bios but it's also just, really amusing when you take a step back from the lore and think about it, haha.

Varen is adorable in his personality and his interactions with his grandpa and I also love, love his design?  The colour pallete, the clothes, the tiny horns, everything is just perfect *u*

I loved reading Tymerth's bio not just because of how it connects to Varen, but because he really comes off as a sagely character and his design also reflects that?  Though it's not coloured atm I do like the aspects in the design as well - he comes off as a very formidable character with that expression of his and the hood.  What happened to his mate and brood sounds tragic though, but at least he has Varen!

The siblings, Dratto and Dratta had such an intriguing story?  It really makes you hunger to learn more about their situation in the Collosseum!  And I love the designs - you can clearly tell that they're siblings and also they just look so cool *u*  Their personalities, like all of them, are really well-fleshed out but I found theirs the most interesting to read about because of the obstacles they face being in the Collosseum and how it had affected their personality + memory respectively, which in turn affected their interactions.  Personally, it's a really interesting dynamic?

Lastly I just love Neithyx's name and her vain attitude because vain characters are just so much fun to read and write about!  She must get on the nerves of a lot of the Ecquinox hunters that aren't on the elite team she serves on.  Her design is also pretty neat, so I'll be excited to see potential art of her in the future?

Aww, thank you so much. :3 It really means a lot to me that you found my babies interesting. It's also really surprising to hear you like some of their designs, since besides Varen and Neithyx, I had to design them all myself and I don't really consider myself that great at it. XD 

I'm especially glad you enjoyed Dratta and Dratto's story and designs~ They've been with me for such a long time, and even that revamp of their designs was in progress for like a year before I finally kicked myself into gear and finished the dang drawing. I only worry that I'll never be able to draw them again because I put too much work into making it look complex. ^^; I really ought to do the same for Tymerth and give him a solid reference with color... but I kinda want him to be bronze-ish colored with molten accents and I don't have any colored pencils that are quite right for it, urgh. And then I need to try out drawing Neithyx myself for the first time, but I'm such a slow artist. XD But this is what I get for having so many babies and so many stories. Ah well.

No problem!  I feel you on the design part though, sometimes I don't feel like I'm great at designs either.  But that's why we practice, to get better!!  Also at least on Toyhou.se, it's easy to be surprised at how a design you may have thought was mediocre is actually considered really good by a lot of other people, and not as bad as you thought before?

And I see what you mean about drawing Dratto and Dratta.  Perhaps headshots wouldn't be too difficult to unwind or something?  Or you could always do one of these memes for fun maybe?  As for Tymerth, I like the sound of the colours already!  That's definitely gonna look very neat when you get to it.  I wish you the best of luck :D

ahhh, i love the design!  he looks gorgeous, especially regarding facial features, hair colour and hairstyle?  it just goes together so well and also matches with his personality, I feel!  His bio was tons of fun to read because of the detailed backstory.  I think my favourite detail was that he's actually the most craziest of all his siblings, despite being the eldest - it's not something you would typically expect!  Also, that he dislikes being thrown out of a window, because I was not expecting to find that in his dislikes section xD  (Actually, now that I think about it, isn't a more concise term for this 'defenestration'?  just a funny note to add!)
also, though it's kind of unrelated, props to the formatting for the bio, it looks really neat and pleasant to the eye ;u;

I LOVE!! THE FLOWERS IN HER DESIGN!!  They're so great omg.  They make her look so pretty, too!  *u*
I feel like the detail about her grades being perfect mainly to impress her mother is a familiar obstacle for her to face, which is good because the more familiar a problem is the more relatable it can be to others?  Especially with her age - I know plenty of people who have been in that situation from a young age so I not only think that it's relatable but in some cases, realistic.  What happened with her father though is so sad  ;____;

Thank you so much! I'm still working on developing her relationship with her parents, (especially her mother,) and even her parents' relationship with each other. They don't even have names yet, haha. I'm glad I have a foundation for her character down, though. :)

A dragon princess protected by a human knight! She eats a mixture of human food and also precious gems and metals as mineral supplements/ has a dragon's affinity towards hoarding u7u/

I finally got the time to draw Esrane digitally and give her a proper design~! One FR dragon off the list :D

//Edit: Almost forgot about my new kid  Yaal who counts... somewhat? Well he has a part of Leviesdra soul in his own and it has affected his looks so... I guess it's okay? xD
