I've been working on these guys for a few months and I think I'm finally ready to get some feedback on them/start seeing if anyone's interested. I don't have any really nice, completed visual guides or anything like that, but I think there's enough information here if anyone wants to make their own. I'm always happy to answer questions and take feedback, too!

This is just me throwing a bunch of info and ideas out there, but if people are interested I'll be looking into making a world/masterlist and making more adoptables of them myself. I'd be thrilled if enough people liked it that we could make a community for rp and stuff but??? We'll see I guess!

ARCANIGHTS

Arcanights are magically created artificial beings who's souls are bound to tarot cards. They act as guides and guardians, bonding to one human and devoting their existence to helping their chosen partner in achieving their goals.

Here's the species weebly for more information!

SEMI-OPEN?

All of the information and lore provided pertains to Minor Arcanights -- Arcanights who are born from cards of the minor arcana in the tarot. Anyone is free to make their own Minor Arcanight!

You can make Minor Arcanights for yourself or a friend, but you cannot sell Arcanights as adoptables!

I haven't decided what to do about the major arcana yet (the fool, the magician, etc.), but I feel that they'll be much rarer and distinct visually from any Minor Arcanights. I'm also unsure about making distinctions for court cards in the minor arcana (Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings), so I'll ask that you refrain from making those until proper guidelines for them can be made. Court cards and the Major Arcana are the equivalent of uncommon and rare variations of the species, so they will be different visually. I'm just not sure how yet -- if anyone has any suggestions or ideas or anything like that, please tell me about them!

SO YEAH that's what I've got, thanks for reading all that if you read it all! Questions/feedback/complaints/whatever are welcome!

MoonFox Definitely! : D I don't require anyone to ask for my permission first, so if you want to make your own feel free! I just love it when people show them to me, LMAO

aaaaa omg I love this species!! can I try making a minor one ??

Ezri

@Patatoponch Thank you so much <3 ! Yes, feel free to make your own!

Ezri

Mem Of course! : D I'd love to see them if you do make your own!

yudeph

I'd love to make one!

Also, just a quick question - is it okay if two Arcanights have the same card? I want to make mine the Five of Cups, but I don't know if anyone else has that card.

Ezri

@TheMegaMeowstic Go for it! : D And it's perfectly fine if two Arcananights have the same card, there aren't any restrictions on that.

yudeph

Oh, okay!

yudeph

Sorry to bother you, but I have another really quick question:

So I told my little sister about these, and she really wants one. The problem is, she doesn't have an account (too smol). And I really want to get it done sometime around her birthday (Oct 3). So would it be okay if I made another one for her?

Ezri

@TheMegaMeowstic Oh yeah, that's totally fine! That's very sweet, I hope you and your sister have fun with them! ; u;

Its me again :'D  I wanted to ask some lore questions if that's alright!  I made sure to check the website in case they were already answered there, but I didn't see anything relating to the kinds of relationships that arcanights have outside of their bonded person and familiarity with similar suits.

So here goes!  I'd like to know more about the kinds of relationships that arcanights can have.  I know the website said they don't reproduce, but are they able to form romantic relationships with others or is it just a strict dedication to the person they're bonded to?  And what about the kinds of relationships and interactions they have with other arcanights?  Do all the suits and decks exist harmoniously with each other or can fights break out amongst them?

Also is it possible for someone to own more than one arcanight card at a time?  I low-key feel like you've answered this one but I can't remember if/where I read it if you did ><

finally finished her !! her name is karin and she is the nine of pentacles !

Ezri

coffeebean BEEP! Okay, I've had a few thoughts on this subject, but it's not something I've written up in detail yet so it might end up being sort of vague. I hope it's helpful anyway!

I think they could certainly form romantic feelings for humans or even other Arcanights if they were in contact often enough, but their duties to their bonded person could make romantic relationships with others difficult for them to maintain. Even if they were in love with someone else, their guardianship of their person is the most important thing to them. Still, the heart wants what it wants! I think they could find ways to make it work out, but tragic longing is probably a common theme in Arcanight love stories.

I've imagined cards in the same deck to have a familial sort of relationship, despite not really being 'related'. There are probably some decks that managed to stick close together and know each other really well, while other cards that were separated might only have vague memories of the others in their deck and not feel very close emotionally. I think most 'single' Arcanights aren't really inherently judgemental about other Arcanights, but those with strong connections to their decks are more likely to feel a sort of rivalry or a desire to prove themselves against other decks. Like, home team pride or something like that, haha! Of course, a lot of that would depend on their individual personalities as well -- I'm sure they can dislike each other or get into fights if they were so inclined. I'm not sure if they have any particular feelings about suits, I'll have to think about it more!

I think I mentioned the multiple card thing, but I'm not sure where. In any case, I can imagine someone having two Arcanights at most, and even that would be an uncommon situation. The person would have to be in a very unique sort of trouble... so it is possible, just sort of strange!

@Patatoponch Aaah she looks great! Karin is such a pretty name, and her colors are lovely ; u;

Synchronicity

Actually, I also have a question lol, though if anyone sees this feel free to give me your thoughts -- I'm looking for some general thoughts/opinions ^^.

So I recently got a Major Arcanight custom from Ezri (<3) and I was working on his bio, but I was wondering what are the thoughts on Justice vs. Judgment? Since they're in the same deck, I feel like I should differentiate mine, which is Justice.

Also if anyone has thoughts on powers related to justice I'd appreciate that too :>

reinore

Oh man this is amazing <3 I love it so much!

Would it be alright to make my own minor?^^
