The question hadn’t occurred to Noah. Of course he was chosen for yet another rescue mission. How many times a week did he have conversations like this? There was always a thief to catch, a punk to scare, some asshole to punish. It never ended. The thought made him slump a little in his chair.
If he’d known it was going to be hero work, he’d have geared up first. Noah did the whole bare knuckle brawling thing once or twice before wising up. Moto helmet, gloves, knee to shin guards- it wasn’t going to stop a bullet, but teleporting could lead to some rough falls. No broken bones yet. Evidently, Helena already knew about the Storm’s work if he was here.
Noah cast an appraising eye on his companions, popping a cheese cube in his mouth. “She thinks we’re capable.” He shifted, hovering a hand over the plate of food before selecting another piece of cheese. “I’m in, whatever you guys do.” Like he had a choice.
