the witch | The writer | The exiled

If you sense a dark aura observing you, you certainly must've done something grand.

For decades she had lived among the southern people, learning and writing about her findings. As a level 10 in the company, she has enough influence to treat the other employees as she will, being second only to the Ethels themselves; Jonathan may be the owner, but working for Evite since before his father was among them, the other employees seem to listen to her a lot more.

The South || What is known

JjBoBTr.pngAmetyr is an odd figure. She seems to be well know within the Evite walls, and her name shows on multiple mission reports, but it's hard to get any information about her past and about her life outside of work.

It is known Salem is a gringo surname and Ametyr will often speak of the Southern People as if she was an outsider, but very little is known about her origin and intentions. Perhaps, the richest sources of information would be her son Aarseth and Choli, her former boss, but good luck trying to get anything out of them.

At Evite, she is in charge of all "Disposables" (officially "Juniors", but she can't control nicknames the others create) until they reach level 3, where they're assigned to their tutors. Due to a deal between the State and the Ethels, Ametyr also recruits individuals in state custody as part of the rehabilitation process, and once they've served their sentence, they are either free from the company with a nice little resume, or invited to stay. Most of the survivors choose to stay.

Doxur || What is unknown

The 13 islands that form Doxur are land of a queer folk.

The Islands, ancient as they are, are home to some much older than most. The earth provides what they need and the sense of union is what made them survive millennia, and is also what made them survive through an age of violent approaches from the Continent. The people know what most don't, and for that reason they refuse almost any form of contact with them.

To leave Doxur is the greatest tragedy one of her own could suffer. It would mean abandon all the people you've known your entire life, abandon your old beliefs, for they weren't well seen in the Continent, and cut ties with the Noir, for most part.

To leave the islands and her family was the toughest move Ametyr ever made. But in all honesty? Part of her was thrilled to leave.

  People of interest

1001199?1523918317Jonathan [ ugh ]
After Choli left the face of the Earth, their eldest son, Jonathan, somehow became the owner of Evite, just as Ametyr had already planned everything for Mys ascencion. Although she sees a lot of his father in him, she does see enough differences to despise the kid.
3561829?1576360730Choli [ boss, friend ]
Choli was the second key-person she met, since she first came to the South, and offered her a job on the spot. Primarily, their relationship was entirely professional, but Choli's interest in Religion and the Noir formed a bond that would align perfectly with Their plan.
After the attack in Nomination Day, a thus Choli's dissapearance, Ametyr felt the same feeling of Abandonment in a different view, for now she had been left.
2654442?1551035438Aarseth [ Son ]
Once a child left for dead in the South, Ametyr rescued him following the Noir's orders. She clothed and taught the boy Their ways, and how everything she did was to fullfill Their wishes. For caring for him all these years, Seth sees her as a mother, even if Ametyr never felt the bond necessary for such a title.
Today, Aarseth acts on behalf of Ametyr when she's out. She completely trusts his decisions, because she guided him to know how to make them.
A powerful Doxumi from Evening Island and Amalia's wife. Arisen eons before Ametyr, she served as a role model for Ametyr as much the Noir Themselves, but wasn't able to have her hand until They allowed to, for she was Theirs.
Shortly after their wedding, Amalia was chosen to become a Doxumi herself. Fahisa helped her with the process, as well as getting used to her new role in the archipelago.
5594594_0qn.png?1543802606Lilium [ boss, in a way ]
Choli's daughter, Ametyr seems to be very protective of her, perhaps because she sees too much of her father in her, perhaps because of the child's role as Overseer, such a rare gift that could be easily exploited. Poor thing.

She would take a bullet for Lilium. She was specifically ordered to, if the opportunity ever comes.

When she stepped into her home, all was already covered in dark. She had no option but to serve Their will.

"This is an honour", her partner had expained earlier, as she tried to ease the fear in Amalia's heart. "The Noir says that you, dear Amalia, is linked to grandious events, for the sake of the Universe's order.

But Amalia wasn't so sure about it. The sickening feeling in her stomach made her mind that the writer wouldn't be a good vessel for Their wishes. But whatever the Noir determinate must be done, so Amalia could only humbly comply. Fahisa- No. She was now Lariat. Lariat would assist her so she could become a skilled Doxumi, so she could control the shadows as the shadows controlled her every move.

But what if she failed? It's known they have a twisted humour. They could have ascended her only so she could fail and fall. And when a Doxumi falls...

"The Noir are benevolent", Fahisa held Amalia's hand and kissed it, as many times before, "They do not tear the stich that connects Them with our people. You are needed, and you must fulfil Their wishes and spread Their message, as all of us must."

The new Doxumi watched the darkness veer as soon as she stepped into the room. She couldn't stop thinking how her transformation would become even more radical, the horns were only the begining. Amalia knew, as the years pass, she'd become less and less of what she was just a few hours ago. Maybe this is how her dear Fahisa felt when she ascended as well.

The Noir had spoken once more, she'd have to leave earlier than planned. The reason? They weren't clear enough, but Their command was to abandon Doxur. The order would shield her from the dangers of the foregrein world, but her appearance... That would certainly be a problem among them.

Amalia was not much more different from what she once imagined, back when she ascended as a Doxumi. Not even her niece was able to recognize her in an old photograph: her skin was the Universe's Void, the hair was long gone, and instead a crown of antlers grew on her bald head. She minded not, she was very fond of the changes, actually. To give up of one's birth look to the Noir was a blessing anyone would be glad to do, Lariat did the same, and she was as beautiful as ever.

Lariat...

She couldn't tell a word to Lariat, They determinated, the Doxumi was supposed to simply dissappear from the islands, and then no one would know of her whereabouts until Amalia's mission was accomplished.

No.

Not Amalia, she had decided a while back. She was now Ametyr, to properly honour her gem.

They haven't spoken much in the last few months, probably busy balancind the Universe, but today was different: her target had finally been located.

She woke up the child and went to the kitchen, for soon they would leave Vale, Granstem. Ametyr hid the sword and started packing - shouldn't be much work, they brought nothing beyond the essencial.

"Mother?" the child showed up at the door and hugged the Doxumir's arm, still drunk with sleep.

"Ametyr." She corrected him, as usual. "Take your belongings. We leave by noon."

"Where to?"

"Nix. Find out where it is and waste no time. We need to burn this place in time."

"Yes, mom" Aarseth nodded and left before Ametyr could correct him.

The woman kept on cleaning the place; they soon would need to leave. She took her journals and the books Aarseth had - the child wasn't of her blood, but by Noir's orders she took him from the southern streets.

Three hours had passed when the boy returned "home".

"Have you bought the tickets?" Ametyr handed him his backpack and closed the windows and curtains with a snap.

"Yes, mother-" Aarserth held his breath, interrupting himself, "I mean, Ametyr."

"Much better, don't you agree?" She smiled and kneeled to match his height. Aarseth ran to her and hugged the lady, who graciously accepted the embrace.

"Would you like to help me finish the house?"

"Yes, please." The child let her go and ran to the kitchen. All of that would soon be over. Ametyr followed shortly after.

Minutes later, the child and her found themselves outside, each with a bag cointaining Aarseth's books - the child didn't seem to trust the Noir enough to leave them behind. Ametyr looked around; Omens had a good view of the region, and a calm enviroment for her prayer. If allowed to, she'd like to come back someday. She touched the floor and the Shadow of her fingers made Its way to the house, killing the grass it touched.

When the walls became entirely surrounded by It, the writer held the boys hand and left. The two of them would not stay to mourn the house - they never did anyway - so they couldn't watch the shadows of the Noir being replaced by the fire, burning everything they left as offerings.
