Backstory

Rabi Blue of the Foxx family was born in Skyfall, in the Alokan Fen (AF) on Vodaluni 42, A. S. 2003 (25 April, A.D. 2003). She was born to Jai and Kroka Foxx. Rabi was very adventurous and impulsive as a kit, often finding herself in rather dangerous scenarios. She learned how to read and write very quickly, and was able to pick up English and some Fennish with ease. Because of this early exposure, she spoke an odd combination of both languages, with was known as Fennish English. She picked up magic and basic shapeshifting, often transforming into a raven chick and screaming at others as a joke.

Things in the AF court had become very tense. King Aloka's advisors had pretty much taken over the kingdom. The feudal system became more rigid, with the poor becoming poorer and the rich oddly becoming poorer as well. Many Skyfall Alokae decided that enough was enough, and planned to flee the country to the other half of the continent, the Illuminorin Fen (IF). The Foxx family decided to leave with them. They decided that escaping during Stellifest, or the Festival of the Stars, would be best as the city would be distracted by the celebration. The Skyfall Alokae began their journey on Stelliluni 67, A.S. 2006 (25 December, A.D 2006). Rabi was just 3 years old. Because the Alokae had the magic of shapeshifting on their side, they flew away as a massive flock of birds towards the Alo-Illu border. They arrived on Stelliluni 72, just before the new year. The Illuminori were very welcoming to the migrants, and promptly granted them asylum.

Little Rabi quickly grew used to her new home. As her parents were rather well off, they were able to afford to buy a house not too long after arriving. They lived in a cottage near the center of the capital, Sun City. Then, on Jordaluni 50, A.S. 2007 (26 May, A.D 2007), disaster struck. A coup of Skyfall Alokae attempted to assasinate the young Lieutenant Emperor Justin Crowquill. The Illuminorin Parliament began to pass laws to weaken the Alokan-born citizens of the IF. This was the beginning of "Lockdown", as the Alokae call it. Speaking Fennish or Fennish English (now called "squeak-speak and squawk-talk") was forbidden. Traditional Fennish names were banned, and all names were anglicized. Rabi had to be called "Raven", and her parents Jai and Kroka were known as "Jayme" and "Frogger". The law that impacted the Alokan-born Illuminori the most was the ban on all types of magic. Electronic chips were placed in the ears of all Illuminori that shocked the wearer when it detected the use of magic. This didn't affect the Illuminorin-born Droxen much, as magic had become obsolete to them. However, the Alokan-born were devastated, as magic was a way of life for them. Rabi hated all of these laws when they were implemented, and continued to hate them throughout her childhood.

Rabi began her schooling in A.S. 2008, at the age of 5. Her parents warned her not to speak of her birthplace at school, out of fear that she would be discrimated by her peers. She was often taunted for her more traditional clothing (a wool shirt, fleece leggings, and a brown leather vest, all covered with a dark hooded cloak) and her odd way of speaking (she had a bit of an Alokan accent that she had trouble hiding, and she often had trouble finding the right English words for Fennish concepts). Though Rabi never told them, the students knew she was Alokan, and chose her to portray a very sterotypical depiction of the Alokan Droxen in their games. Rabi thoroughly enjoyed learning, but despised her classmates.

Things did improve as Rabi grew older. The children teased her much less, and she excelled in all of her classes. When her schooling came to a close at the age of 15, Rabi decided she wanted to take part in the traditional, but dying, ceremony where the Upper Parliament chose occupations for the graduates. When the ceremony occured, Rabi was the last Droxen to be called up to the front of the stage. As the announcer read her chosen career, he went pale. She had been chosen for a government job, which was rare for an Alokan-born during Lockdown. The auditorium went silent. Rabi was terrified. So terrified, in fact, that she ran out of the auditorium and past the outskirts of the city, into the forest. As she ran, she felt a crackling of energy around her, and she panicked. She then felt a small electric shock in her ear, and everything went black.

When Rabi came to, she didn't recognize her surroundings, and she appeared to be at the top of a tree...? This area didn't have the polluted smell of Sun City, and wasn't she only a few miles away, at most? Rabi suddenly felt another build up of energy, and after another shock, found herself at home, in front of her parents. She realized she had teleported, which was a Droxen ability that even most Alokae kept hidden. Rabi sheepishly apologized to her parents, and went to lie down in bed.

Not too long after, Rabi went to work for her first day. She soon found out that she had been chosen as one of the court musicians, as that was technically a government job. The musicians wore garb based on different regions of Droxus Fen, and she portrayed the nobility of the city. She later met her colleagues, Lampwick Merryfeather, Serena Splasher, and Arthur Stonehart. They quickly became companions and performed together for many different government functions.

A couple of months later, Rabi recieved a letter from the Upper Parliament. It stated that she had been promoted to the official scribe of the country, and was recommended by a "Crowman Drakker". This meant that she was now an officer in the Lower Parliament. She was overjoyed, though a bit upset that she'd have to leave her musician friends so soon. Rabi then found out that her new job wasn't all that it seemed to be. Her new supervisor, Bartholomew Flufferslug, and his right-hand man, George Barke, disrespected her constantly and only referred to her as "Alokan". She soon got used to this, though, and began to love crafting scrolls as advertisements and decoration for the government.

When word got out that Rabi, an Alokan, was an officer, things became turbulent. The press started showing up at her house unannounced, demanding their questions to be answered. When the Foxx family home was vandalized by some other teenaged Droxen, Rabi had had enough. For the safety of her parents, she moved out of the cottage and into a cabin at the edge of the city, near the forest. With this newfound solitude, Rabi continued to experiment with teleportation, and frequently collected things from the world she visited, which she discovered was Earth. When she is on Earth, she frequently uses her magic to prank her friends. by shapeshifting into different animals, breathing fire, and changing her physical gender. Due to the continuous use of magic, she burnt out the chip in her ear, and no longer recieves shocks. Rabi is unable to show her true form on Earth, so she appears as an anthro red fox to everyone around her.
