Jaci (as they're known in this era) is a human who has lived for millenia. They have mastered many different ancient and modern magical techniques and have worked as a historian for the last 1,000 years. Currently, they search for a way to free themselves from what they consider their curse.
As a person, they come off as somewhat mysterious from first meeting them. They act rather elegantly but have a flirty and even crass sense of sarcastic dry humor. They like to tease other people often, saying certain things for a reaction, and while they can be unsympathetic and somewhat cold at first they do care about the people around them. Despite their capabilities, they are also rather forgetful, not retaining entire days at a time sometimes but remembering them a lot later if something notable happened.
They have a myriad range of skills and hobbies due to needing to find things to occupy their time throughout the years. They're an excellent cook, artist, craftsman and magician. They love to take walks and interact with people that catches their eye who they find interesting.

- Their personal history starts in the Chiron world's equivalent of the real world Bronze Age.
Jaci ruled the country of modern day Myrmia around 6,000 years before the events of Chiron, which will from now on be termed "modern day". Mermaids helped their kingdom fight back against invaders, establishing a long standing alliance for millenia that ended with mermaids intermarrying with humans and their genes passed down even when they themselves became extinct. For their role in the Mermaid War and their own research into the subject, Jaci was gifted immortality.
Jaci ruled over the country for about two centuries before they were ousted by their own family after they failed to distill their gift of immortality upon them somehow and struck Jaci from historical records. After this, they fled to a deserted island off the coast and made a living there alone for a period of 1,000 years. Their mental health declined greatly during this time, and they learned a lot about the ecosystem of the island and the circle of life itself. They recorded their findings of the creatures on the island and compiled them in their first encyclopedia. Eventually, people shipwreck onto the island and Jaci begrudgingly helps them begin a community, but they forced Jaci to leave because their atrophied social skills did not leave a great impression.
Over the centuries, Jaci drifted from place to place, and around 1,000 years before the modern day, decided to write down what they knew into a collection of tomes. They travel from place to place every few decades to try and record important events. Due to the strain on their memories, their sense of identity is fractured and they have severe memory issues, thus necessitating writing their life down as they remember it.
