Appearance

Ly is about 155 cm (5'1") tall, lightweight person. She is slender and quite shapeless. Her skin is smooth and while she looks very young, she can't be really mistaken as a child anymore; it's not easy to define her age by her looks. She has slanted, dark brownish-grey eyes and dark hair and she has a mole on her left cheek. Her posture is good and she rarely smiles: she doesn't express herself much. Her shapeshifting ability causes her some physical ails, such as rash.

Ly rarely wears makeup, but she dyes her hair and wears colorful nail polish. Her taste in clothes is expensive as she wears high-priced brands and she has a streetwear style with oversized clothing.

Abilities

Ly's mutant blood has given her the ability to change her appearance by will. She can change everything in her body, she can even grow facial hair and change her voice by changing her vocal cords; a whole different question is if she really wants to do it. Transformations cause her pain and inconvenient physical conditions, and they take a while to heal.

Personality

Ly doesn't stand out much and it's easy to lose track on her - and still somehow she seems to be exactly there where all the action is happening. She seems phlegmatic, silent and maybe even shy, but that's very far from the truth: she is actually a very social person and she rarely spends time alone. Ly likes to observe people and it's okay for her just to sit and watch people come and go. She is confident in any situation because she doesn't feel she needs to prove anything or explain herself for anyone. She talks straight and tells her opinions without hesitation: she's not looking for trouble, though, and overall she is definitely more friendly and kind than mean or hostile.

Ly doesn't waste time on anything she's not interested in. She lives her life for herself and doesn't try to please others. She's a pure opportunist, she doesn't become attached to anything that might slow her down, and she is used to leave everything behind if she finds something more interesting. She doesn't really care if all the things she does are legal - personal gain is the only thing that matters to her. Her ability to adapt different situations is remarkable.

Extra info

• Ly's native language is Vietnamese (Northern dialect). She's also fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
• She has a younger brother Dũng and they left Vietnam together some years ago to look for better opportunities for their lives.

Trivia

• Created in 2021 for a scifi themed text-based rpg (that doesn't exist yet...).
• Ly's brother Dũng was actually created maybe a year or two before her; he was only a rough concept, though, as I wanted a roommate for my character Liam. Dũng is purely an NPC with NPC vibes so I didn't want to plan his character more into an actual RPG character, so I started to think about him having a sister.
