Marcail was once a beloved member of a corsola clan among the misted isles. Since being courted and deceived by the knight Fairweather, they’ve managed to evolve by brutal means and isolated themself on Eilean Mar. When they discover a stranger adrift while diving, they nurse him back to health, and soon discover that he himself is a knight.

Sir Ballygally quickly builds a strong but quiet relationship with Marcail as he aides them in shaking off their gruesome past. They now spend their time with him on the mainland- except for each spring season when they must make a bittersweet return to their island until summer arrives.
