Aaric's Links
Aaric doesn't like Damien. At all. Damien is not only a terrible father in Aaric's eyes, but he also seems to float from one potential love to another, which bothers Aaric. In Aaric's mind, this means him and his brother were a fluke - sons that weren't supposed to happen. Thinking this, he takes out his frustration and emptiness about it on Damien. If he knew more about Damien, maybe it wouldn't be like this, but Aaric refuses to get to know him.
Damien doesn't understand how much his son dislikes him. Why should he? He didn't know Damien that well. Because of this, Damien knows their relationship is sour, and if that's what Aaric wants, then Damien will keep it like that. He doesn't want to try and make anything better and end up making it worse. Deep down inside, Damien cares and loves his son, no matter how much Aaric doesn't like him.
Aaric's world revolves around Ike and caring for him. With such a useless father, Aaric has become more of a father to Ike than Damien himself. Not that Aaric minds - he'd rather Ike get Aaric's influence than their father's. Aaric is constantly concerned for Ike, and is ready to protect him or stand up for him whenever need be. He just hopes that Ike will soon learn to fend for himself.
Ike loves his older brother, and enjoys to spend time with him whenever possible. He doesn't see why Aaric doesn't like their father, but decides not to let that get between their relationship. Ike tries to veer any and all topics about talking bad about Damien away from Aaric. He'd rather spend the time with his brother in joy and without conflict.
Aaric feels bad for Apollo. What could Damien have done to taint the poor kid's mind into thinking flirting and breaking hearts was the best thing ever? Aaric couldn't see it. He hopes that Apollo snaps out of his father's strange trance fast, and become a normal boy. With that said, Aaric will sometimes try and persuade Apollo out of it, but his efforts are always in vain.
Apollo, although doesn't mind Aaric, doesn't see what he hates in Damien. Damien is Aaric's father! Who could hate their father? Although, it may be because Apollo is envious that Aaric has a father that tries to love him, while Apollo just has his brother. Nevertheless, he tries to be as nice as possible to Aaric, but only because he's Seth's friend.
Aaric and Seth are like two peas in a pod. Both concerning brothers, both who hate Damien. Aaric finds comfort in being able to complain and talk with Seth, and he is very glad to have such a close friend. He feels bad for Seth, who wouldn't have to deal with Damien if it weren't for Apollo's love for the psycho flirt. But, if that didn't happen, then how else would the two be friends? Aaric couldn't think of another way.
Seth is good friends with Aaric for one main reason - they both hate Damien. Originally, he would only complain to Aaric and they'd side with each other on issues about Damien. It eventually led to their good friendship. In the end, they're both big brothers concerned for the well-being of their little brothers, and Seth takes refuge in knowing he can talk to Aaric about concerns and hard times.
Aaric understands why Leilah hates the world they live in, and he can't blame her for doing so. Although he hates to agree, he doesn't think she's the prettiest on the outside, but her personality is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He doesn't ever want Leilah to feel down when he's around, and is always making sure that his aunt is happy.
Leilah is good friends with Aaric. They both can let out their worries and sorrows to each other without being judged, and then be there for each other. They always have a good time with each other. Leilah also always feels better when she's with Aaric, about herself and the world around her. He brings her a light that she thought she'd never see.
