Matthew comes off as fairly confident in most settings, but in reality, he's a bit on the shy side. He's a total sweetie though, and is always finding the positive in things. He's 6'1 and a beanpole, and loves to wear crop tops or slim fitting tank tops. He has a ton of hobbies, some normal and some odd, and because of this he ends up with a lot of odd jobs. Most recently this has led to the modeling industry, where he works as an office intern of sorts. This is how he met his best friend, Dierdre, who works as a makeup artist. Together they keep Francesca, one of the younger models, out of trouble. 

Matthew was always close with his parents, and was terrified to damage their relationship by coming out. He bottled it up and dealt with it in some unhealthy ways, which eventually landed him in the hospital. Knowing he couldn't keep it a secret any longer, he came out to his parents who, after some family therapy sessions and a whole lot of trying, came to accept him. His mother spends a lot of time reading "My son is gay, what do I do?" books, and his father (hilariously) attempts to connect with Matthew by doing silly things like suggesting they sit down and watch Ru Paul's Drag Race, or making sure to wear a purple tie on pride day.

While out with some friends at a club, Matthew met Julian and found him quite intriguing. The two hooked up and continued to see each other for quite some time, despite Julian's insistence that he was not interested in dating or relationships. Matthew really started to fall for Julian, and when he finally confronted him, Julian panicked and left. Eventually Julian came forward and admitted that he had feelings for Matthew too, but he was still not interested in dating and had decided that they should stop seeing eachother.

It took a really long time for Matthew to get over Julian, and sometimes he still struggles with it. He's recently met Kai, though, and the two have been getting along really well. Matthew is tentatively interested in dating, but is afraid to get his heart broken again. Kai is patient, though, and a good friend either way.
