► LAWRENCE GREER

"I'm innocent! I just got swept up into all of this... And... Truthfully? I'd very much like out right now, thank you kindly-- your plans are awful, again, and I don't support them, none at all!"tumblr_o6lpqdTJUO1vr50j9o1_540.png

Appearance

Eyes: Thick eyebrows and round, honey-brown eyes. The way he glances about is reminiscent of a shifty cat.
Skin: For a man that should be ghostly-white-pale if he didn't spend so much time in the sun, his skin is a strong tan. It's quite possible that he has tan lines over his eyes due to his glasses.
Hair: Slightly curly dark brown hair that is kept trimmed along the back and slightly coiffed in the front. It doesn't take long for the sun and various labor to get his hair limply uncurled.
Body type: Would be average, running on the thinner side if he were undressed. However, all the layers of his normal clothes provide him with a body that looks unremarkable, but healthy.
Special notes on Lawrence's appearance: The man can't be seen without his glasses. On rare occasions that he's seen with his glasses off, some folks are known to be taken aback when they see his eyes-- they do come off delicate and pretty. He has a well-groomed mustache and slight soul-patch.

Clothing, piercings: His clothing is the hallmark of his personage! Even though he's been living below conditions he's normally used to, he still refuses to dress more 'comfortably' and spends what little he makes with the bandits on quality clothing. Will only don a Boss of the Plains if he's lost one of his derbies or top-hats. His glasses are very important to get correct. They don't have 'rims' that reach around the head and ear-- it's a beige ribbon. The glasses were once pince-nez, but ever since Wrench has been with the bandits he doesn't trust them staying entirely secure, so he shoddily fixed them up with a ribbon. Glasses are very unpopular, but he needs them, and he'll be damned if he becomes a fool to fashion entirely.
As for piercings, Lawrence has none!

Mannerisms: Kind of a drag in that if you're annoying him, he becomes flippant and overly sarcastic/callous. Catch his interest though and suddenly he'll have nothing to remark on, simply listening or watching.
Has a tendency to scoff or physically turn his face up (ala 'turning your nose up at someone') if you say something he considers idiotic. This happens a lot.
Will chuckle or smile if he felt like his insults toward you were particularly hilarious. In these times he always has a look of expectancy, hoping the other shoe will drop and you'll laugh too. Never happens. lol

Personality

  • 'Wrench', as Sadie's gang mockingly nicknamed him, is a sarcastic, uppity college kid.
  • Very snooty though he has no right to be, he constantly is berating or judging someone. He used to give everyone the what for, but ever since he got taken by the bandits he has started picking and choosing his 'battles'.
  • The young man is a huge hypocrite and will not stand down from his tangled up narratives. It's almost expected for him to be lying about his opinions.
  • Embellishes a lot of stories involving himself, and if he takes a liking to someone, he'll try to play stories about them up, too.
  • Happens to be sensitive, and won't ever really let on to this even when he's comfortable. He just prefers to stay quiet instead of admitting to enjoyment. Catch him in pain or frustrated and he'll complain all day though.

History

  • Lawrence was born in Decatur, Illinois, on July 17th, 1855 (Cancer♋️) from a well-to-do family.
  • Being the 'runt of the litter', so to speak, left Lawrence with the mercurial desire to speak his mind loudly as well as hide from the rest of his family to avoid scrutiny.
  • He's a young man- a 'city boy'- who had a bright future: he was studying at college, focusing on fine arts... and happened to be on the train that Sadie's gang was scoping out. He unfortunately overheard the illegal scheming and confronted the scoundrels, and the rest is history.
  • He misses his education (mostly the comforts of being a normal American citizen, but puts those ideals on par with his collegiate experience), his family, and not doing this illegal irreprehensible stuff, but he also appreciates that these folks didn't kill him for his 'transgressions'.
  • Only R.J. and Sadie themselves give Lawrence some credence. Hell, any man that can stand up to a group of bandits out of sheer contempt has gotta be worth a lick!

Abilities

Skillset

  • Weapons: Can sufficiently wield, aim, and shoot pistols. He can handle guns way better than even R.J., and the man's a cowboy... Not to mention his voice is much more booming when the endorphins kick in.

Relationships

NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS ARE IN THE LINKS TAB

FAMILY

Lawrence was in good standing with his parents and his six siblings... He hasn't talked to them in years, ever since he got swept up with Sadie's gang.

Trivia

  • Most of Lawrence's peers consider him to be effeminate. He has no comment, but you're welcome to say that to his face when his gun's loaded.
  • He has presbyopia. That is to say, he enjoyed reading too much in his youth and adolescence that it's now ruined his eyes in young adulthood enough to need glasses. He still feels regret over causing so much damage to his eyes (especially getting made fun of now with his glasses)! But naturally, he can't get enough of reading and writing, still.
  • His middle name is Henry ☺
  • Did I mention he hates getting dirty? He will absolutely go out of his way to not get dirty. Grosses himself out when he gets to sweating.
  • He used to correct every little mistake the bandits would say, but after a few years of doing it, he stopped... And now finds extreme amusement in watching the bandits flail, waiting for Wrench to help them out with a correction.
  • Discreetly carries a tiny pocketbook on himself at all times and will not ever let it go. Every time he has to undress, he finds a different spot to hide the thing.
...It has his purple prose describing various people he's found enamoring (or rather, misconceptions, assumptions and ideals of these people). There are three pages alone dedicated to Ryan's body, and one scratched out sentence on the start of Sadie's arms.
