Fiona Bailey

Intimidating / Distant / Professional / Competitive / Perfectionistic / Calm / Intelligent  

Fiona isn't as mean as she looks, but going off looks alone she could easily win an award for resting bitch face. It's true that she's not the most sensitive person and doesn't like to beat around the bush, but there is a softer side to her that takes time to show. She's very supportive of others and likes to see them succeed, even if it means dropping her usual persona to force something more maternal. It's clear that mothering isnt her strong suit, which is probably why she never had children, but she still tries to be a positive influence for younger riders. Her co-workers on the other hand, are relationships that she keeps strictly professional. She has a method for everything and doesn't like to break focus from necessary tasks to socialize. Regardless, she has her low points and could use a stronger support system, even if she wont reach out for it.

As mentioned before, Fiona comes across as cold and impersonal. It's not always her intention, but other times she figures having a more blunt approach will help her get to the point quicker. She'd also be lying if she said she didn't enjoy intimidating others at least somewhat. The only people who see her softer side on a regular basis are the riders she works with for lessons. 

Her vibrant hair color stands out, but that's certainly not the only striking feature to her appearance. Fiona tends to style herself in eye-catching clothes, and knows how to make her presence known in any case. Her gaze is also fairly powerful, and her thick eyebrows give her an intimidating edge when she's angry. She has a strong presence despite her smaller stature, and her body type can be described as an hourglass. She has broader shoulders and hips, with good lower body strength from her riding career.

backstory .
For the majority of her childhood, she lived in a group home, but stayed with a few foster families in-between. She doesn't know much about her birth family, other than the fact they were poor and couldn't care for her past two years old. In foster care, she wasn't the troublesome type, and kept mostly to herself--a trait which still applies to her today. In an effort to wean her out of her shell, she was enrolled in equine therapy classes and learned how to ride. From there, she stayed interested in the sport and begun to pursue western riding lessons. 

As an adult, she aged out of the system and begun renting her own place. She also made friends with a group of American riders who introduced her to their drill team, and she showed with them for a few years. After one event, the group celebrated by buying concert tickets, where Fiona would meet her eventual fiance, country music star Ethan Conrad. With his career on the decline and him looking to settle down, he moved to Scotland and they married. The marriage, however, was rushed and ended sloppily after they toughed it out for several years. In the present, he still lives nearby in Ireland, and the two of them interact regularly at CBEC despite the resentment on both sides.

family .
Her own family isn't discussed often, particularly due to the fact she was raised in foster care. What is known about her birth family is that they were low-income and incapable of caring for her or her siblings. She hasn't had contact with her birth family since childhood, and has since tried to move on with her own life rather than looking back for answers.

education .
Fiona received a low quality primary school education, but had access to better schools and resources as she got older. She has some college experience under her belt, but isnt in a hurry to get a degree just yet. 

occupation .
Her future ambitions are to show professionally, but for now she leads the western division at CBEC and oversees their AQH breeding program. 

residence .
Fiona currently rents her home, and is looking into buying something more permanent when she can afford it.
