Those who meet Noboru often find themselves unnerved by the young man’s demeanor - or lack thereof. His voice is monotone with little inflection or emotion. His facial expressions and mannerisms aren’t any improvement. At times, he can be misread as cold or uninterested, but truthfully Noboru has forgotten how to express himself. Shutting down his emotions was a coping mechanism to survive through the Abyss and he’s never quite learned how to turn them back on.

"Noboru, just let the priestesses handle this. This is their responsibility."
Noboru couldn't accept that. He was equally capable and responsible of protecting his home. It was certainly some amount of arrogance and ambition that drove him out to the thicket that night. It was also that touch of luck, or rather, misfortune, that caused him to slip on the soaked grass. And it was absolute circumstance that he fell into a great chasm of which he could not escape for some time.
