Skrillex

Skeri left Avalon to study at the Protectorate Academy on Earth, despite the planet being near-unhospitable by Avali. And then it became near-unhospitable by everyone, because it stopped existing thanks to something he's learned is called the Ruin. But before that, Earth was a pretty nice place, and Skeri adapted quickly to being around humans (as well as quickly learning what is toxic to avali and what isn't). Despite being from a species that usually keeps to themselves, he bonded quickly with his fellow Protectors and formed a "semi-pack" with them while maintaining contact with his original pack through the Nexus.

His nickname, "Skrillex", is something he considers a sign of finally being accepted among humans-- everyone at the Academy gained a nickname at some point, and it was an unofficial rite of passage. He's attached to it enough that he introduces himself by it rather than his "real" name.

After managing to survive his graduation ceremony, during which the Ruin suddenly attacked, Skrillex was only able to make it as far as the Utharex Legion system before crashing his badly battered ship. Luckily, despite the immense danger even the idyllic world provided to an unprotected avali, he was rescued by a hylotl named Bard who'd had to flee his own planet for unrelated reasons (and who hadn't rammed his spaceship into a cliffside). Word soon spread throughout the Outpost about the brave Protector who'd escaped annihiliation, and as Kali and the Deputy joined the team Skrillex ended up forming a very ramshackle pack (which he desperately needed despite not admitting it at the time). Together, they're the Delta Assault Brigade! And they have very little idea of what they're doing!

He takes great joy out of being able to explore brand new worlds, and is known best for getting himself knee-deep into trouble. Thankfully that mysterious ninja, "Shadow", is always around to bail him out... and, okay, he's really cool. Really, really cool. Of course Skrillex admires him! What, a crush? No way! ...oh no.

Underneath his bright and bubbly personality, Skrillex is singlehandedly focused on his one and only goal. All he knows for sure is that the Ruin is still out there somewhere, and as the lone survivor it's up to him-- and his pack-- to stop it. ...but what is he going to do afterwards? He has no idea. Pretty much everything he knew and loved is dead and gone, so there's nothing for him to go back to. He isn't even able to contact his pack from Avalon, and the isolation would have broken him if not for the Brigade. It takes a while for him to start thinking past his mission, but as time passes and he and the rest of the Brigade build up their base on the planet he crashed on he figures that maybe he doesn't need to go back. Maybe it's okay to just keep what he has, right here.
