About

Deirdre Burgess, aka Dewdrop, is one of the supervising biochemists and botanists aboard the Promethean. She is mainly responsible for the caring of plants within the ship's greenhouse and managing the crew's oxygen stores. She also works running tests and analysis on specimens collected from outside the ship, as well as making sure all the natural resources aboard are in tip-top shape. Occasionally, Deirdre works with the kitchen and management officials to create plans for "green" recreational living, keeping the crew happy and healthy while minimizing waste. She's all about finding new uses for materials.

Story

Past
Deirdre originally came from a line of crew members who were descended from originals on the Promethean, but was put into cryostasis when the ship had no need for a botanical supervisor at that time. She awoke from her sleep a few years ago and has spent her time bonding with new crew and seeing what has changed from her years aboard - which wasn't too long ago, but enough to see a new round of crew pass through. She doesn't like to talk a lot about her past, but has referenced having a twin brother who is probably still in cryo.
Present
Ms. Burgess heads botanical care in the Promethean's greenhouse, as well as data collection and analysis of various samples of natural elements found during travels. Most of her time is spent around the plants, performing tests to regulate ship oxygen levels and maintaining a green and healthy environment. She regularly pays trips to the kitchens to deliver ingredients grown directly under her care - she takes a lot of pride in providing her crewmates with fresh produce.
Future
Deirdre is excited to be collecting and studying new species of plants and other living organisms through her space travels. One day she hopes to better understand the Imposters' actual lifeforms, for research purposes. She is looking into their mode of cloaking and how similar camouflage tactics can be seen in other animals.

Crew Log:
"Log date, [///]. During my review of the Minerva subspecies this morning, I noticed one of our specimens (who I have deemed to be Harold, I think Harold suits him) had started to sprout a new branch! This was the first of our Minervas to expand beyond its normal characteristic of a single stalk, so I'm really excited to see if it continues to sprout or if it does not develop. I really hope it stays growing! Harold has been doing so well!"
