Novi was a pretty happy-go-lucky guy in his early days, but after being passed around from home to home in the foster care system, he's grown gradually more withdrawn and reserved. Having developed trust issues, he rarely allows himself to become close to others anymore and has a major fear of abandonment. He prefers to keep to himself on most days, listening to music and playing video games, though he sometimes finds himself being dragged along to concerts with his more social friend, Dee. Since Novi greatly enjoys music (and Dee's company), he really can't complain. 

Novi and Dee met not long ago at a music festival and immediately hit it off, bonding over their shared interests. In time, they began to develop feelings for each other that went beyond that of friendship, though it took some time for them to even admit it to themselves. Their eventual relationship was never discussed and neither of them really know when it became an actual thing. It just seemed to click into place one day, and now they can't really imagine themselves living in any other way. 

Dee is responsible for bringing Novi out of his shell on most days. They enjoy pulling harmless pranks on unsuspecting strangers to pass the time, something from Novi's past that he rarely indulged in anymore until Dee entered his life.
