Profile

A sentient omnivorous mega-fauna that is both suited to land, air and water. Cannot see very well during the day, as eyes are accustomed to nighttime activity. Has extremely good hearing, but also relies on vibrations from the surrounding areas to navigate during daytime. Has been known to percieve and comprehend language, but no evidence has been shown that this species possesses the ability to communicate on a higher level than its species-only clicks and whistles which it uses to communicate with other members of the species. Not known to be inherently aggressive to other organisms, but members of the species are known to be extremely violent and aggressive to members of the same sex. Males of the species possess a large horn situated in the centre of their skull, whereas females possess a small chin-horn which grows in as they grow. Have been known to have been domesticated a few times, but only young individuals, no older than a year old. No sub adults have ever been recorded having been domesticated due to size and energy constraints, and only one adult has been known to be overtly friendly with human populace. They are often recorded hunting in savannahs. They are not known to be picky in what they eat, and have been recorded eating rotten carcasses, fish, cattle, and have even been recorded going after crocodiles, lions and rhinoceros. Members of Lucanidantidus seem to avoid elephants. A few members of the species, namely L-002, who has been known to maintain an almost fully aquatic lifestyle, come out on occasion to rest on river banks, beaches and shorelines, and live around rural and urban areas with large groups of people. L-002, a male also known as "LUCAS" has been known to live in and around urbanised areas and has been known to be particularly friendly around humans. Tends to sleep on beaches and around bridges, and remains unbothered by cars and humans alike, and although a few times people have climbed on Lucas or having simply irritated him to the point of a snarl here or there, there has been no documented attacks on humans. Overall the species tends to be laid-back. They are illegal to kill, as there are not many known members of the species. Their scales are robust and deflect most bullets, but there have been documented cases where young specimens have been killed with high caliber rifles for "scientific curiosity" and been dissected for knowledge. It has since been illegalised in every country where they have been known to habitate.
