Her parents didn't support her when she dropped out of highschool in favor of starting a rock-star career and essentially kicked her out when she hit 18. Leaving her to couch surf across the city in hopes of making it big. She was actually a friend of Freakazoid's who claimed to hold respect to a hero who could hold his own in the cruel world. And offered him to come hang out with her whenever he wanted, seeing as "Not a lotta heroes have friends that aren't heroes."

One day the funds ran out on their lease for a place they'd been staying an they got kicked out. Ended up finding an empty warehouse and crashing there, only for the cops to eventually bust them and take them in. On the way there the car crashed into a chemical truck and when trying to save the passengers a live wire fell into the fray from a telephone poll. Electrocuting her and turning her into a mutant hybrid. Now donning control over all things electrical, she's taken on the job as a vigilante to pay off her debts and in turn make a name for herself as LiveWire. She still tries to be friendly with Freakazoid, even if he doesn't outwardly respect the kind of work she does on her own time.
