King Monty

King of the Kingdom of Arwyn. Father to Prince Mercutio and Shogun. Has magical tears.

Very strict, but he's overall pretty fair and will not punish his subjects for ridiculous reasons. Will not tolerate rude or annoying behavior.

King Monty's strictness and determination for making Shogun into the perfect future king stresses Shogun out. The stress from living up to his father's ideals is overwhelming for him, and it's one of the reasons that Shogun tried to fake his death. Now that Shogun is thought to be dead, King Monty is distraught and full of grief. Monty's grief has led him to start acting less reasonable and he believes that someone must have purposely killed Shogun instead of it being an accident. In attempt to find blame and find a way to avenge his son, he searches for this supposedly-existing killer (although there actually is no killer). This goes against his wife's (the queen's) back, since she doesn't agree with Monty and she wants him to stop this investigation. This investigation has made him reckless, and he's paying much more attention to his investigation rather than to his living son Mercutio. He has become neglectful, both to his family and to his royal duties, because of his grief overtaking him and making him act unreasonably. He hasn't been training Mercutio to be the next king, even though he should.

A usually fair ruler who was an overbearing father. His grief over his first-born son's death has caused him to become more and more unreasonable. Despite evidence saying that his son's death was an accident, he's on a reckless investigation to find his supposed killer (even though he wasn't actually murdered). Has become somewhat neglectful to both his family and his duties in this irresponsible search for a killer that doesn't even exist. He's very determined and stubborn.

Can be drawn with his son Mercutio. Keep in mind that it's very likely that he would appear annoyed by Mercutio.

Can be drawn with his wife Queen Azure. Ship art of them is encourgaged! Note that any ship art likely takes place before their son's death, since they began to drift apart after that.

Can also be drawn with Ronan, but only if Mercutio is also in the image (since Ronan is Mercutio's best friend.) Keep in mind that King Monty doesn't really approve of Ronan, but he tolerates him.

Can be drawn with Titus, who's the guard for the royal bank. Titus is also a family friend, so they trust each other and Titus sometimes gives the king advice on problems, though not often, and usually just for personal things. They usually just treat each other like co-workers, though, except when the king gets emotional and Titus is there for support.
