Your name is ADRIAN VATRENO and you are quite TIMID and SHY. You’re not really one for MAKING FRIENDS or ENGAGING IN CONVERSATION and you STARTLE EASILY. While it appears you lack SOCIAL CONFIDENCE, you have too much SELF-CONFIDENCE and YOU SHOULD. You were BULLIED for your APPEARANCE your WHOLE LIFE and now you’re finally getting your confidence back.
You think you’re HOT SHIT and you’re NOT AFRAID TO SHOW IT, and it boosts your ego a lot when you catch someone ‘checking you out’. When they approach you, however, you tend to GO MUTE and you FIND IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP EYE CONTACT. You also seem to STUTTER A LOT. Your stutter has been around since you were a kid, and you don’t know how to fix it. Maybe it’s PERMANENT.
You hate how you’re so SHY even when you’re OVERFLOWING WITH CONFIDENCE. It really puts your mood down when you can’t flirt with those who pick you out of a crowd. Honestly, the ONLY REASON SOMEONE MIGHT LOOK AT YOU is because of your STRANGE APPEARANCE. You are, after all, a MUTANT FIRE CREATURE and yet you decided to reside in a SNOWY TOWN? Strange. It’s not your fault you prefer the cooler colours over the scalding ones of your homeland.
Despite your obvious self-centeredness and boastful nature around those close to you, you are very SOFT-SPOKEN, EMPATHETIC and KIND. Usually once you get over your SHYNESS you’re quite EASY TO GET ALONG WITH and you’re always there for your friends no matter what. You could say that you’re also very LOYAL.
You’re just a MIXED BAG OF PERSONALITY aren’t you?
Adrian is shy, reserved and very anxious at the best of times. He can’t often order food on his own or talk to strangers but he’s working on getting better at that even if it takes a long time. While he doesn’t mind talking to people, he does get all flustered and quiet when someone points him out in a crowd or a group. It's hard being hot but also incredibly skittish.
He suffered from some trauma in his past that have given him his debilitating anxiety, but is happily recovering with the help of the cat-girl that 'rescued' him. He has a lot of love to give and is super affectionate. While it might be hard for him, he loves making new friends. Adrian unfortunately has a permanent stutter that gets worse when he's doing things like talking to strangers or ordering food, but he doesn’t let it stop him from trying to get to know people the best he can. Sometimes he has to stop talking, think over what he wants to say, take a deep breath and try again. His stutter is usually worst at the beginning of sentences, but once he knows what he's saying he can usually speak without messing up. He’s very self-conscious of it and it really annoys him, but he’s learning to ignore it.
He's very curious and is always interested in learning about new things and really enjoys the little things in life like seeing snow, a good lunch, and television. He's a very good boy and always tries his best to lend a hand and help others. The only good hand he can offer. His other one... is a little too hot to hold.
Adrian came from a very aristocratic family (that is, all bapjwini are high-class socialites) and unfortunately, his major birth defects made him a disgusting outcast in the eyes of his species, meaning that the reputation of his parents went down the drain - especially his fathers because it was quite obvious to anyone that took a look at Adrian that he didn't belong to him. He wasn't his child.
Audrey (mother) was told sternly by her friends to avoid taking him to social events and Avery (father) agreed. Adrian quickly learnt how to fend for himself when he was left alone at home. Though, in saying that, he still can't cook. He'd often just order take-out with his parents' credit cards.
He suffered from a lot of verbal and physical abuse, and isolation from Avery, to the point where (even though his mother showed him kindness) he ran away from home at the age of twelve. Only Audrey knew of his disappearance as he left her a note specifically telling her not to say a word to Avery. He also took his father's one of many credit cards with him for money.
Avery tried cutting off the funds to the card, but Audrey firmly stood her ground and forced him to keep it open so that she could see by his monitored transactions, that he was safe.
Unfortunately, while Adrian told his mother that he was running away to find somewhere new to live and fit in, he had actually planned to commit suicide. He just didn't want her to worry. At the top of a large building, he jumped - faulty wing stopping him from flight.
He survived, but barely. It was at that point where he cursed the bodily strength of his species and how they cannot die easily by physical harm. This didn't mean he wasn't injured, however. If he had a bone, it was surely broken. A sharp rock had sliced directly through his stomach and created a mess.
Mini, in her wanderings, found the hurt boy and tried her best to heal him with her powers before dragging him home. It took a while, but he eventually healed (not completely, for some reason his stomach in particular never healed and he's always having to replace the stitches) and she decided that, since he had nowhere else to stay, that he should stay with her. He agreed. That is where he stays to this day.

Like most males of his species Adrian has a bulky appearance and a strong facial structure with large bat-like ears and nose. Unlike them, he’s a lot shorter (at 5'9") and has three sets of eyes. He has two arm related mutations due to bad crossbreeding, one being a molten arm mutation from his mother dabbling in magic while she was pregnant with him, and the other being a simple birth defect of having one of his wings underdeveloped and attached to his arm. He should have two, large, fully functional ones on his back – but that’s not the case. He’s decorated his deformed wing with two stretchers – one white and one black - since he can't use it. He has two piercings being on his bottom and upper lip and one industrial on each ear. He’s got natural fiery red hair and is quite scruffy as he’s starting to grow in his facial hair along with large sideburns.
He wears any outfit that’s a combination of a crop top and a zip up jacket of some kind, and is partial to black jeans and a nice red pair of vans. He’s usually seen with either his black beanie or one of his many assorted caps whenever he’s in public, but doesn’t wear a hat around the house. He usually always has his glasses on.

(Nightmare – Set It Off)
- Adrian's human AU counterpart is Adrian
- He can’t cook at all. To the point where he straight up refuses to if he’s asked. He can make a bowl of cereal, but not a proper meal. Mini sometimes uses his molten arm to fry things like eggs as well, when their stove isn’t working. So in a way, he does cook. Just involuntarily.
- His favourite food is marshmallows.
- He’s super clumsy and is usually always knocking things over, tripping over things, or running into things or people. This could be due to the fact that he’s unco-ordinated, but also because his eyesight is incredibly poor and he’s always losing his glasses.
- He usually uses echolocation to get around by making little clicks from the back of his throat, in a very bat-like fashion.
- He has a pet bat that he rescued when he found it with a broken wing one morning. After it had recovered, he tried releasing it back into the wild but it kept coming back to him as though it considered him it’s family. Adrian let’s the bat do what it wants at night but it always comes back to him at dawn.
- Adrian refuses to play sport because he knows he’ll probably hurt himself or someone else accidentally. He’d rather watch from the sidelines and usually really enjoys seeing a good game.
Mini was the one who saved Adrian’s life after he leapt from the building in an attempt to end it. He’s been indebted to her ever since and believes she’s the most important and influential person in his life. He’s grown to love her, but since she doesn’t reciprocate he’s happy just having her as his best friend and roommate until the day that she finally decides to confess her feelings too. In the future, they end up together with a child.
While she may have neglected him in favour of keeping what little social reputation she had left, Adrian still feels close to his mother and tries his best to keep in contact with her whenever he can so that she knows that he’s alright. He knows that she does care about him, even if she feels pressured to disown him by their society. He doesn’t blame her for this and has since forgiven her for her actions and behaviour, and hopes that they can be reunited again one day without him having to travel back to his homeland.
Adrian and Avery have never got along and yet Adrian still doesn’t hold a grudge against him and has forgiven him for his abuse also – but that doesn’t mean that Adrian has accepted him into his life again. As far as he’s concerned, he’s disowned his father like he did with him and wants nothing to do with the man that made his life a living hell. If Avery changed his mind and ways, he’d reconsider letting him back into his life because he’s nice like that, but the thought hasn’t yet crossed his mind.
