A teacher in Angstrom, currently living in the Ashlands because he's technically a criminal wanted on like 30 cases of kidnapping.

But they were stealing children from their families and putting them in witch jail to use as magic batteries!!  What was he supposed to do!!!

Sure they're not back with their families NOW but at least they don't have to worry about that creepy sadist overseer anymore!

Salt is doing his best to be a good father for his 30 adopted children.

He's an extremely well-meaning & softhearted dude who just wants to bake cookies & make friends & smooch his gf but he's slowly sinking deeper into the depths of a bloody revolution.  

Relationships

Ezra - The self-proclaimed god who established the ashlands(they control the fucking volcanoes, who is going to challenge their claim?).  Another claim of theirs, is that Salt is their son. Salt is almost positive that isnt true, but is playing along with it for political gain essentially(NOT HIS IDEA, BLAME AETHER). They really truly seem to love him & the mob of grandchildren he brought along & he feels bad for lying to them he is too soft for this :(

Aether - his girlfriend!! she is so intense and clever and gallant and he is extremely smitten.  She's also kinda leadership in the witch rebellion & that is SO DANGEROUS and he is SO WORRIED about her.

Beacon - literally worships Ezra & insists on treating him like some kind of royalty/demigod and god it is extremely creepy.  Please stop.

Darkest - he knows her as 'Maverick'.  She helped him smuggle those kids out of witch jail, but was unable to escape.  They werent MEGA CLOSE, she was very abrasive & angry & liked to instill disobedience in the children.  HOWEVER HE FEELS VERY GUILTY BECAUSE HE KNOWS SHE WAS IN A BAD PLACE BEFORE AND IT WILL ONLY HAVE GOTTEN WORSE.  U KNOW BECAUSE OF THE ABBETTING A CRIME.

Trivia

- keeps pigeons! They're the only things he brought with him when he went on the run & he loves them so much....they are his anchor...
