Katakuri

A peaceful Vaiki hailing from Nara, Katakuri has lived in capital of the prefecture her whole life. Her egg was found alone on a mountain, relatively near to where Nara Park would eventually be established, by the deer in the area. An odd occurrence, no doubt, as few Vaiki were found in the area at the time. Nonetheless, the deer carried the egg down the mountain and watched over it until she hatched. They acted as her family, teaching her to survive - And in turn, Kata has come to consider herself a guardian of sorts to the deer she (and others, once upon a time) considers sacred.

The humans of the area once found her presence somewhat unnerving; and in all fairness, who could blame them? A strange creature whose species rarely, if ever, lived in those parts, bearing multiple tails and living amongst the sacred deer... it was an unusual sight, to be sure. Some feared her, others revered her... But eventually they grew accustomed to her presence, and even gave her a name: Katakuri, after the Asian fawnlily - A fitting name, given her relationship with the deer of the area. Eventually they went so far as to teach her to brew tea and prepare food, just as they did. In return, she watched over them, and continues to watch over their descendants as well, assisting in their duties with the park they established.

Ultimately, Katakuri is a calm and gentle Vaiki, with an appreciation for nature and life's simple pleasures, from drinking cups of tea, to feeding the deer she calls family... to the somewhat more mischeivous pastime of watching the deer harass the park's tourists for snacks with a grin on her face. But her untamed youth in the forests and mountains away from human civilization still stays with her even now, deep down inside her, and should the day arise that she needs to defend that which she loves, she would fight with her life to protect it.
