Amegami was named for her once strong affinity for water, but the loss of her older sisters to an ancient curse devastated her. As she was about to put an end to her own life with her powers, came a large, imposing giant with a soft spot for taking one who lost their most important under his wing. He was the reason she stood back up and changed her domain to sunlight. Unfortunately, he was *also* the reason she became bitter after a sudden abandonment. She found him again, but unknowing of who he truly was-- And there was conflict to be had. Ame, however found herself adoring of Kaien after she toned down her excessive pride for her people over others. But it was cut short by the corruption of her most prized and sacred artifacts, and another eventual war with their respective people. She ran away, grieving over the supposed loss of her tribe and of what Kaien had done to make it happen. Things are never the same for her ever again, but for some reason, she feels that her long, ongoing resentment for Kaien was not exactly called for. Having heard of her people surviving their annihilation, she returns to Rolitoland to find answers to so many questions she has in mind.
Kaien very much loves this woman, and that is no lie. His conflict with her due to Yabunkamui's deceit still scars him to this day and he feels like he can never own up to the mess he had done, but he still refuses to let her go. Aside from caring for his people, he would risk his eternity just to find and reconnect with her. Little did Ame know that he was once her mentor after her sisters were lost to an ancient curse; Back when he took on a long, forgotten true form. Kaien chooses to hide this fact in fear of hurting her feelings further because of his abandonment of the former protege turned lover.
