About

The princess of the rabbit kingdom. Nanako is a girl of few words. She doesn't talk much and prefers to express her feelings in other ways, like spending time with a person, gift giving, helping out, etc. She's not the most willing person to help immediately, but if you earn her trust she's by your side. While not vain or mean spirited, she's definitely more reserved, preferring a good book and a trip to the flower gardens over a loud party.

She loves making flower arrangements, finding them relaxing and fun to make. Many times she can be found out in the garden, picking new buds for her crafts. Despite this she also loves to read- she's especially partial to fairytales. While she often takes a human form for the ease of crafting, she doesn't care much for the human world as her means of taking a human form is limited. She feels the safest in the human world around her best friend Hickory.

Personality

Quiet, fluffy, and intelligent, Nanako is the princess of the rabbit kingdom. She has an extensive vocabulary from reading, however she prefers to talk as little as possible, usually showing her emotions through actions. She's quite thoughtful and sweet, but her lack of outward emotion tend to make her come across as vain or uncaring. Contrary to that, she's a great listener and usually can sense when someone is feeling down, making them gifts or just sitting with them to cheer them up.

Her face is normally expressionless, even when happy, but she loves to make people happy or gain their approval. When she opens up to someone, she will talk a bit more, but she's definitely not someone word heavy. Nanako dreams about adventure, but she knows she isn't fit for it, so she usually resigns herself to making tiny bits of mischief, stuff that no one notices.

Story Summary

Nanako is the elder sister of two, the princess of the rabbit kingdom. From a young age she developed a love for knowledge, often spending her time alone in the library. On her request, her parents even built her a private room in the library to study in. Just a few years after she was born, her parents had another sister, naming her Kamiko.

Nanako never liked Kamiko very much, as Kamiko was always and still is jealous of Nanako holding the crown and title of princess. She would often pester Nanako to give up her crown.

Being quiet, Nanako never had a chance to make many friends, which is why she was thrilled to bits when her parents finally allowed her to attend the annual ball thrown by the chinchilla king and queen. It was there she met her friend Hickory, the squirrel prince, who despite being more talkative than her, seemed to understand and get along with her well despite her lack of words. As Hickory is the holder of the twin stars, two star shaped amulets allowing him to disguise himself as a human, he would often share them with Nanako for fun.

Nanako occasionally journeyed with Hickory to the human world, but now usually tends to stay in Desideratum, using her solid human illusion for crafts (fingers are better than paws for flower arrangement!) Still preferring to spend her time in the library and in her room, nothing much had really changed.

Hickory

[ relationship ]
Her best friend, Hickory the squirrel is basically a more talkative version of Nanako. It's no wonder they get along so well! They often spend their time reading together and playing childish games such as hide and seek and red light green light.

Kamiko

[ relationship ]
Nanako's obnixious younger sister with a severe princess complex. As Nanako was born an only child, with Kamiko coming later, Kamiko had no chance to inherit the crown. Therefore, Kamiko often follows Nanako around, demanding the princess's crown. Nanako dislikes Kamiko greatly and has no interest in hanging out with her, however Kamiko often tags along with Hickory, bringing Nanako great displeasure.

Basil

[ relationship ]
Nanako's tormentor. Unfortunately for the rabbit princess, Basil is also Hickory's boyfriend. The cat prince often chases poor Nanako around the castle, not exactly scaring her but igniting her natural flee instincts. This usually ends with Nanako crashing into Hickory and Basil receiving a scolding from his boyfriend. Nanako cares little for Basil, but knows that he makes Hickory happy.
