Nui

Nui is... flamboyant. She loves commanding attention and causing a ruckus. You'll usually see her cheerful and bouncy, happy to doot along on her panpipes or entertain with her spells and readings. Nui is an entertainer to the core; she feeds on the attention and appreciation of an audience, and a receptive audience tends to encourage her to larger and larger shows and tricks. Everything she does takes refuge in the audacity of her actions -- "go big or go home" is her philosophy, almost as if compensating for her small stature.

While she is otherwise good-natured in the face of insults (at least outwardly), if referred to as a "bitch" "cur" "dog" or really anything that takes her canine form or ancestry as a negative, be prepared for O-Ren Ishii levels of Get Fuckt.

Kindness earns her loyalty, and that loyalty will go far. She craves love and affection, and will go to great lengths to get them, even doing things she wouldn't consider doing if it were for herself instead of someone she's gotten attached to. In a similar vein, when faced with Large Butch Women, her wittiness and quick thinking are completely deactivated. She can get real stupid when around Big Ladies and will trip over herself -- often literally -- for a good while until she gets used to their presence (and the distraction it brings).

If asked, Nui will explain her birth as "my mum really liked dogs," but she doesn't actually... know. She was picked up from the side of the road by a group of traveling entertainers. At first she was a sideshow attraction, but as she grew older she began to actually try and integrate into the troupe. She learned how to play, how to sing, and various ways of consulting the fates about the past, present, and future, but was still treated more as the troupe's pet than an actual member. Eventually, she ran off to find her own way, picking up skills here and there.

At some point, she joined up with the Swords as a sort of side contractor, not quite a member of the organization itself, but working alongside them as needed. Her current traveling party was met in a jail cell after various acts of chaos and mayhem. They're doing their best to help people, they're just... kind of a team of idiot chaos bastards, so things go off the rails often and incredibly quickly.
