About

Birth

Morana was born to Lullaby of Snowhaven and Asteri of Torre. She was carried by Lullaby, and born in Snowhaven. Khaalida was summoned for the birth, and asked to read the future of and name the young foal. Khaalida was honored to do so, but upon looking into the future she saw many paths of darkness and destruction. Very few paths ended well, which made Khaalida fear for the young foal. She named the foal Morana, and pondered the possible futures. While Lullaby and Asteri wanted to raise Morana in Snowhaven, later traveling to Torre to learn the arts of healing, Khaalida had another idea. Having seen that Morana's magic would come swiftly and early, Khaalida suggested Morana go to Candentia, to learn alongside Sonnet and Minuet, two of Khaalida's foals who lived there with their grandmother, Radiance.

When Asteri next came to Snowhaven, Eira, the baroness, pulled both Asteri and Lullaby aside and revealed what Khaalida had said in the matters of her birth. While not pleased, the parents went along with it and Morana was sent to Candentia.

Candentia & Beyond

Morana was not entirely pleased to leave the quiet life on Snowhaven, but made the trip to Candentia. She quickly fell into a life there, practicing her magic. While she was not as powerful as Sonnet and Minuet, she had her own set of skills which she honed during classes and practicing with the other youngsters. She formed a bond with Minuet, but Sonnet avoided her like the plague even though he was supposed to be helping her. It became a fun game for Morana, to annoy him as much as possible. It was one such day that she went to find him and instead found him and Radiance by a portal. Radiance shoved Sonnet through, and went through herself. Making a quick decision, Morana followed.

It was the Solstice, and her magic was already overflowing. The jungle was on fire, and she quickly lost track of Sonnet and Radiance. She stumbled upon a group of Quirlicorns trying to corral some form of elemental, and to her surprise she recognized one to be Sidra, Sonnet and Minuet's other sibling who lived in Espeor. Sidra at the time looked exactly like her mother, with small hints of Sonnet and Minuet mixed in. She was working alongside a group of other powerful feeling Quirlicorns, but were quickly becoming overhwhelmed by the Chaos Elementals. Morana jumped in to help, and together they were able to push back the elementals.

Morana headed back with Sidra and the others to the market, where they found residents of Phaedra helping out. It seemed that Anevay's solstice chaos had turned into true chaos, and there were others lost in the jungle. So Morana went back out with the others to help. While out, they run into the Baron, Ausrune. During a conversation with him, Morana is attacked by an Elemental.

Morana died from the surprise attack. The Solstice magic was ensuring no permenant injury, but while she was unconcious she was confronted by another who looked like her, albeit older. She spent what felt like an eternity in the cold dark with that Other presence, an interaction that changed her path forever.

When she came back, something felt different within Morana. A sense of knowledge and power about her magic and what it could do, how she could bend it and use it. There wasn't much time to ponder it, however, for Radiance appeared and offered a portal back for Morana, as well as Sidra's group. Sidra and her group were dropped off in the Mountains, and Morana went back to Candentia.

Afterward, Sidra and Morana kept up contact, in a small way. When Sidra summoned her around Samhain, Morana joined. Sidra had been called upon to investigate some strange happenings, and some new faces joined. It was then Morana found out she had half sisters. However with the strange happenings there was no time to dwell on it, and Morana instead found herself paired up with Sidra to find the culprit to the strange happenings.

It is during this journey that Morana and Sidra end up in a situation that requires more magic than what they have. Morana decides to craft an Artifact, which enables her to protect herself better while they figure things out.

By the end of that journey the friendship between Morana and Sidra is cemented.

Afterward, Morana decides to not return to Candentia, instead striking out to wander the lands.

The Path to Deity

Morana finds herself wrapped up in strange tales oncemore when Magic stops working as intended in the Quirliverse. She assists the deities alongside some others to put to rights what went wrong, and finds that Sacred Dew Trees are appearing seemingly at random within the Regions. This quest seems to add to her power, and Morana found herself swiftly rising to the level of demigod.

With this newfound power, Morana goes to Espeor with Sidra to learn how to best control it. Khaalida mentors Morana and Sidra in their magics, teaching them how to control their strong Chaotic Influence. Morana continues to grow stronger under Khaalida and Sidra's mentoring.

Another Solstice passes, and she travels with Khaalida and Sidra to the Entropy Region, a newly discovered Region. While there, Khaalida, Sidra and Morana come across an abandoned foal. Perhaps some mix of solstice magic and the chaos of Entropy was at work, but a strange soul-bond forms between Morana and the youngster who Khaalida names Rusalka. Due to this strange bond, Rusalka cannot go far from Morana, so Morana ends up stuck with raising her.

Morana tries, but really isn't good at it. She gets more swept up in her power as it continues to grow, becoming more distant from everyone. Morana ascends to Deity status.

Sisters of Shadow

Morana takes Rusalka to Valisthea, so Rusalka, who was born with magic, can learn alongside the others in Sidra's land. She retreats into her own mind, simply letting the world go by without much thought. Since the others are training Rusalka, she doesn't really think much of her.

Morana's world is thrown into a loop when Khaalida arrives one night with Morana's sister, Morrigan. Morana, who never knew of her existence, is furious at first. But seeing there is no other choice she takes Morrigan in. It doesn't go well between the two. Morrigan's arrival brings back the feelings of abandonment and unwantedness that Morana has had in the back of her mind since being shipped off to Candentia. They really bring out the worst in each other, and it all comes to a head when Morrigan sneaks out in the middle of the night and crafts an Artifact of her own. Morana loses her temper, and the two have a fight that results in Morrigan falling ill.

After some harsh words from Sidra, and a reality check from Rusalka, Morana goes to Morrigan. She doesn't apologize, but a thin truce is formed between the two.
