Astria is a mysterious young woman training under Commander Leon Magnall of Akedime as his only student. Though her origins are a mystery, her skills are unquestionable.

Appearance

Astria is a young woman of average height, bearing hair so blue it almost appears silver at times that is done up in a ponytail. Her eyes are heterochromatic, with one being orange and the other being a light purple. Although normally not noticeable, her figure is actually quite slender, her muscles lean but toned. Her armor as a knight is a unique red in color, in stark contrast to the typically black and yellow of Akedime. Her uniform exposes the area below her neck, and although it is just a rumor among knights, some have said that a mysterious mark exists  just under her unform collar.

Personality

Most who know Astria have stated that she is a cold young woman, distant and rarely spends any time with anyone other than her master. She is aloof, and often avoids discussion unless absolutely necessary, even with her superiors. Although fairly new to the military, she does show eagerness in learning to fight, particularly since she studies under her master, Commander Leon.

In stark contrast to her behavior towards other knights, Astria is considerably more calm and sociable with her master, and is noticeably more happy whenever she spends time with him. Over the years, she has even developed a small love for nature, particularly a rare type of plant that she keeps in the courtyard of Akedime's castle.

Just like she is around her fellow knights, Astria is cold on the battlefield, rarely uttering a word to her enemies. She is often seen wearing an eyepatch of some kind over her orange eye, though no one knows quite why.

Skills and Abilities

From the day that Leon took her in, Astria displayed considerably ability to learn, from basic combat to various strategies revolving around the use of terrain. She is armed with a wide array of knowledge about Mana, from manipulating it to controlling the flow of it in the air around her. Although not a Spiritist, she still is capable of writing Runes in a variety of manners to produce different affects, such as generating wind to conjuring white-blue flames. This has given her a reputation and earned her the title of "Azure Phoenix."

She wields a longsword in battle, one of crystalline appearance and bearing a rounded guard around the hilt. She wields it like one would wield a rapier, making use of quick footwork and strong thrusts. This style makes her unpredictable, and good at fighting armored opponents, despite the disadvantage one might assume she has. 

Astria possesses a good physique, one befitting a knight, however it was one she had to work for since being taken in by Commander Leon.

History

Though her origins are a mystery, even to her, all Astria can remember is growing up on the cold, merciless streets of Krallentar. The city, which is situated on a peninsula far east of Vedaria's capital, is known for the divide between Spiritists and those who are born as normal Savi. Often times disorder breaks out which results in damage to local business, often belonging to non Spiritist Savi. As a non Spiritist Savi, Astria was the subject of much ridicule and abuse by local nobles, which resulted in her growing a distaste for royalty as a whole. When Commander Leon Magnall arrived one day however, he brought two Akedime Generals with him and swiftly struck down the nobles who had been abusing Astria, etching a horrific scene into her memory. Scared and alone, she expected the same fate to befall her, but to the young girl's surprise, Leon extended a gentle, caring hand and took her under his wing. He took her and his Generals back to Akedime, and acted as her foster father.

From that point on, Astria began to study as a knight under her new master and foster father, spending the next thirteen years studying swordplay and learning to write Runes. She studied ancient languages, the history of Lucethia and the story of the Great War of Enelios. When she was of age, Astria joined the military as a personal knight for Leon. She initially only undertook simple assignments in the field, which often involved either hunting monsters or relaying messages across the kingdom. During this time, she was cold and distant to every other knight in the army, which put everyone off. All except one knight ignored her, that knight being a man named Atael. Despite her best efforts to push him away, his laid back demeanor continued to eat away at her over time, whether she was working around the castle or just training. Although she is not friendly with him, Atael is the only person Astria can have a regular conversation with.
