the initial developed information:

"For my stylistic creature, I picked the game Pixie Dust, which is described as “a fast-paced, dystopian single-player adventure game in which the player must enslave pixies and collect treasure.”

The creature I’ve created for this project is a species called Foxfairies. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with different wing shapes and patterns, but always share the ears of a fox, some sort of tail, and some sort of wings. I’ve chosen to go with the character Jester as my modeling subject, as I feel his design most fits the world and the role within it. Foxfairies are related to the pixies the player character captures and can be captured alongside them. However, it may be more valuable to the player to let the Foxfairies roam, as they are both difficult to capture and very helpful when let free. Their role in the game is both collectible and guide. If the player doesn’t capture them, they will help by leading the player to other treasures to collect. When it comes to interacting with others, Foxfairies are a friendly and curious species, eager to learn more about other individuals and their homes. They are capable of human speech, but have a language all their own, used specifically when interacting with other Foxfairies. They are typically quite reactive, often acting before they think, and jump into situations before they know all (or even most) of the details. This can get them into trouble, but they are blessed with strong nature magic that usually allows them to solve their problems (and is quite a hindrance to the player character, should they try to capture one).

Pixie Dust is described as a dystopian adventure, so I like to imagine cityscapes overrun by trees and other plant life. Foxfairies are most often found in forests, but since the fall of society, they have been seen entering local cities and towns to search for treasure and befriend other species - including pixies and humans. Some even set up homes in these cities, making it easier for the player character (and others) to find and interact with them.

Foxfairies have large, fox-like ears and generally, a rather expressive tail. Their ears are finely tuned to sounds that humans cannot hear and often can tell someone is coming before they are ever within eyesight. Their tails are used as a form of communication through body language and are easily understood by those who have studied other, similar animals. They are also endowed with wings, which allow for at least some modicum of flight. Some foxfairies can fly farther than others, depending on their size and weight, but all can pick themselves up and flee through the air. Finally, foxfairies all have a strong grasp of nature magic, which can manifest in a variety of ways. Some common tactics are to tangle players/enemies up with roots or vines, growing out of the earth with no apparent source. They are also likely to employ 'bloom' spells, which cause plant life to sprout in/on other things - including organic matter, like the player. This can cause injury and even death, making foxfairies very difficult to combat. It's much wiser to seek their help, rather than their capture.
