- Unlike typical jiangshis where their talisman prevents them from moving, yaozu needs talismans in order to move. He changes it frequently to ensure the effects don't ware out, he always has spares on him.

- Does not suffer from any form of post mortem as he was burned alive.

- His mask was a gift from a fellow monk whom he saved from certain death.

- His mask allows him to control foo dog statues or beings.

- Talismans/Fulus are what give him his mobility, if he loses his current one and doesn't have any spares he will become stiff and gain rigor mortis along with traditional hopping jiangshis are known for.
