Kaoru

A city of old is a city filled with tales of romance and heartbreak. For love is gentle, love is kind, but love grows old and so very cold. But the love and heartbreak didn't fade such as morning dew and from this feeling birthed a life new.

This new life that is in form of a youth believes this was the tale of her birth. But the city has more than just vague tales. Long ago in this very place was a seamstress who so loved a man that she coveted his love, and ultimately his life. The seamstress had thought he had betrayed her for another woman whereas in truth, this man has never once looked at the seamstress or even knew her name. He had just asked for the hand of his love in marriage and the young lovers looked to their future with only hopefulness. But once upon a night in spring did the seamstress took her own life from her heartache--and behind her were the bloodied bodies of the lovers she wished to tear apart. In their dying breaths promised to meet again in their next lives. Thus, the youth called 'Kaoru' was born.

Shy, cautious, and quite timid, Kaoru is a hard-working seamstress who, despite her difficulty in socializing, loves to be around people and hear their stories. While it's quite difficult for her to blend in (hence her introverted nature), she finds enjoyment in sewing garments for many special occasions in her clients' life. This was up until the town where she lived had been plunged into ruin due to war. Henceforth, the cautious girl had become even more terrified of her surroundings. It wasn't until she met another one like her called Enmei that revived her more cheerful nature as she found enjoyment in many more different things aside from sewing. Whilst still timid, she has an adventurous and brave side to her that goes very well with her hard-working nature. All this adds to her skillfulness as Enmei's housekeeper and companion.
