Profile

The second son of the long serving family of Stareaters that have taken care of the Valdier family for over a century.  While initially it wasn't planned for him to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Pietari and become a manservant as well, circumstances eventually led to that happening.  Neville was supposed to apprentice under the old groundskeeper Pelegro so he could eventually take over that duty.  For a time he happily and quietly learned these simple tasks of gardening, flower arranging, bush and tree trimming and fountain management.  But due to a sudden threat against one of the city's ruling powers, Neville's brother Pietari was sent to guard and server under the young master of the Gradios family temporarily, leaving the Valdier's young master without a manservant.  It wasn't ideal, but there wasn't anyone else close enough in age to Aramis who could take on the duty.  So Neville was taken from his comfortable and quiet apprenticeship and thrust under the tutelage of old Benjamin to learn the duties of an upstanding manservant.  In the end, Aramis didn't really want another annoying servant following him around and Neville didn't want to be a butler.  Both parties seemed to be unsuitable for each other but how would it actually turn out...?

Neville has always had a shy personality and been reluctant to speak to others.  Because of this, he's the type that's easy to bully.  His younger sister Lottie has often come to his rescue when he's gotten picked on in the past, as she's a fierce little spitfire despite her age and many of the kids are a bit scared of her.  Neville naturally likes to have things tidy and orderly, so cleaning isn't too much trouble.  Since his mother is the head of the kitchens, cooking is also a well learned skill set.  His father wishes he would have a little more of a backbone, but his mother has spoiled him too much and indulged his quiet nature since he was small.  That's why they collectively decided to let Neville take over the groundskeeper duties, since old Pelegro's daughter had died all those years ago and he had no one else to pass the skills onto.  After the confrontation in the city involving the Pendlehursts and the Gradios families, they became increasingly worried that their introverted son wouldn't be able to handle the pressures of training to be a butler, especially with the young master's atrocious personality...
