Mamon: The Bloodthirsty

Mamon is the demon Hellspawn (demon straight outta Hell). He travels in a pirate crew, commanded by the half demon Captain, Jacquel.

Mamon is his first mate as they sail around the life realm, causing mayhem and fear across the seas.

- Tall and wiry, with long straight hair and a variety of brightly coloured tattoos.

- Mamon’s smiles are wickedly wide, and his eyes hold a dangerous, hungry glare. He is usually smiling when he talks, even if he’s angry.

Jacquel is jealous of Mamon’s sharp teeth, as his own are dull and merely human in appearance. (Jac’s jaw is pretty strong tho, once he bites down it's hard to pull him off).

Because of this, there comes an instance where Mamon hunts down a particularly toothy mawed demon, cutting it open and constructing a weapon. A gift for his half human, to use with those teeth/jaws. (Kind of like a bear trap that you hold and chomp against your enemies.)

- Mamon is always showering gifts on his murderous little cutie patootie, Jac -er, his Captain. His powerful and feared Pirate Captain, respected by all. Yes. Saved it.

*In demon culture, bestowing gifts like clothing, and items that will alter appearance or be worn/seen on the person, is a sign of ownership over that individual. However, Jacquel doesn't know this and accepts them willingly, much to Mamon's amusement and delight.

Honestly the half human THINKS he's in charge of Mamon, and in many ways he is, but only because the Hellspawn indulges this fantasy- Mamon finds it fascinating and amusing being around such a sadistic half human creation. More often than not, humans either fear demons and run when encountering one, or want to stop the potential bloodshed that they wrought, but not Jac. He embraces it.

Mamon is a Hellspawn demon that entered through an ancient portal into Tera (this realm) long ago (when the portal gates were still working).

Due to unforeseen circumstances that he can’t remember, Mamon was put into an unconscious stasis for well over a thousand years (at least! He’s actually not sure, as it could be two thousand years...).

He woke up within an old and abandoned city that had long since been reclaimed by the earth, finding himself deep underground and all alone.

** This lost city was once the place of worship for a demon fire king, Zathura.

Zathura and his fellow Fire Lords used to hop from life realm to life realm controlling over the puny humans and living creatures alike, via their Portal Gates, residing in Hell.

Mamon was a servant of Zathura, (when Zathura was at his worst, before meeting Cereus and eventually purifying). Mamon represents the darkest point of Zathura's past. Being a creature showcasing what he once was and how little he valued the lives of others smaller than him.

While Mamon does not know what became of his king, he knows that they all still exist out there. Likely stuck behind their broken gates within the Hell realm.

Mamon only has what other Hellspawn in the land have been able to tell him, and some of what they’ve said has not lined up amongst their stories. So Mamon really doesn’t know what to believe, or what happened to Zathura and the other fire demons. All he knows is that he is now alone and without instruction.

For now, Mamon is living as a free demon, beholden to no king, doing as he pleases. He still dares not speak the names of any Fire Lord, in fear that their ears will hear his call, summoning them to his location and dooming his soul for eternity. (As is the fear of all Hellspawn that have left Hell for a life realm against their king’s wishes).

*If a Hellspawn demon is killed while in the life realm, their body will decay rapidly to dust, and this dust will be sent through to a portal gate in Hell (completely bypassing Purgatory). Here they will be greeted by a firelord, awaiting to destroy their eternal soul, for the crimes of escaping Hell (permanent death after death).

*However, Mamon finds the thought of this fate extremely unfair for himself alone. As Zathura was the one that brought him to this realm in the first place, long ago when the gates were still working. Mamon didn’t escape Hell to enter the life realm, he was welcomed here by a Fire Lord itself! Though he knows this fact will fall on deaf ears should he return to Hell.

The Fire Lords are not known to listen to those beneath them, and everyone is beneath them.

Mamon has a malicious and murderous way of living.

Before joining up with Jacquel and his pirate crew, Mamon was a serial killer of sorts, striking fear in the hearts of humans from city to city on the mainland.

He finds humans and living creatures fascinating, particularly for their ability to die and be reborn. As Mamon is a raw soul, straight out of Hell. He is essentially already ‘dead’ and will not ever be reincarnated should he die again.

Because of this, Mamon finds the beauty of life - a beautiful thing to take away.

He knows what happens after death (you go to purgatory and wander around a bit before reincarnating… or are found by a Torture Demon, and thus promptly turned into a demon of Hell), therefore he feels no mercy when killing people for enjoyment! Why should he? He’s giving them a new life to live, after all! They should be grateful! They might even get to become a cat in their next life! (He likes cats. He loves their pretty eyes and sharp tiny teeth. He loves their retractable claws and their cute little bean paws. Their squeaky little meows, their feisty, quirky attitudes and soft fur. He’d never hurt a little kitty :) Yes, Jacquel reminds him of a cat.)

He likes to call his murders a gift of reincarnation. The swarm of emotions he receives from bestowing such gifts on others is one he cannot simply describe. The feeling of being covered in life blood puts him into a delirious frenzy. Seeing people’s wide, fearful eyes running from him, screaming for help… The joy he gets from these feelings consumes him entirely and his mind is lost for a time being.

- He gets creative with his victims and likes to leave gifts (human remains decorated into pretty fashion) for the various authorities that search for him to find in his wake. They have given him the title Mamon The Bloodthirsty. When Mamon heard this new title he was so overjoyed he went on a killing spree to celebrate. (Don't give serial killers fancy titles, guys. Seriously, what's up with that?)

*In Hell, Mamon was a well respected builder/constructor for Zathura’s kingdom. He would build structures, furniture, and items of all kinds for Zathura at his command. Mamon helped build the very city he woke up in, after his stasis.

For this reason, Zathura had him come along to many different worlds while the portal gates were working. Not just Tera, but various life realms on his journey to conquer the world and their inhabitants. Mamon learned of a lot of other realms and how they construct various objects and items.

He now uses this knowledge to help Jacquel craft various unique weapons for his ship and his crew, that of which this realm has never seen (and shouldn't have seen for years yet). Yeah, this bitch knows how to construct a bloody ipod, but there's nowhere to plug shit in to charge it. Mamon misses electronic music…

During one of his more intense murders, Mamon dabbles a little too heavily into his desires and remains at the scene of the crime longer than he should have. (He falls asleep among the corpses after the fatigue of his mania calls him to rest, like a dummy).

He wakes up to not only the blade of a Demon Slayer coming down above his head, but the pierce of a Hunter’s poisoned dart within his side.

Wounded and drugged, Mamon flees to the only place he can find to get away from his pursuers: The waves of the ocean.

It’s unfortunate he has no idea how to swim, but the demon is desperate to escape the human’s that wish to claim him.

With the slayers the only ones with a ship, the hunters await his return to shore should he escape them out at sea.

It is at this moment, Mamon feels the fear of destruction seeping into his mind. He sees a ship flying a Slayer’s flag approach him and is dragged on board, unable to move or fight much at all because of his wounds.

Greeted by an unusual looking human, and not one that looks like a Slayer at all, Mamon watches as a pirate flag is lifted above the ship, and the chaos that ensues because of it. Quite possibly the most beautiful moment Mamon has ever experienced (probably has nothing to do with being heavily drugged and relieved from the fear of death.)

It isn’t long after that, that Mamon learns of Jacquel, the captain of this ship, and his half human, half demon status!

Never before has Mamon encountered such a hybrid. Awe struck by a bloodthirsty man, and his savior, Mamon claims loyalty to Jac and his crew, offering his services for saving his soul from certain demise. Jac really does not know the gravity of the situation in which Mamon was saved.

The added bonus of moving from coast to coast, allows Mamon to experience all sorts of life creatures, and to witness all walks of life that humans and this world’s other life creatures experience on the day to day. So many potential reincarnations! Mamon does not hide the fact that he enjoys killing and mutilating others.

At first Mamon wonders if this will intimate Jacquel as it does so many others, but to his surprise and interest, it brings them closer together. The man seems to hate his fellow humans just as much as he loathes the human blood that lives within him. And this fascinates Mamon to no end. It’s usually the other way around, that demons wish to be more humanoid.

- Mamon doesn’t have his sea legs for a while. Feeling extremely ill while he’s on the ship. He can be seen hanging over the edge of the boat, doing his best not to throw up. Or sometimes can be found hiding in the captain’s quarters, pretending he doesn’t exist while he’s feeling nauseous and hates that he’s showing weakness to the crew and Jac.

Jacquel laughs at him. It’s humiliating. To be fair, Hell does not have any water, much less an actual ocean (though there is an equivalent, giant demon thing that acts like an ocean to be sailed on, but one of which Mamon has never encountered before). He’s not used to this, okay! Cut him some slack, Jac.

- Jacquel is the only one Mamon lets boss him around. He shadows the half human wherever he goes, kind of acts as his muscle, although Jacquel does his best to be intimidating without any help. He’s so cute, trying to be all tough and mean! :)

Seeing how Jacquel handles others, and how he actually manages to make them fear him without the use of any demon abilities, only strengthens Mamon's interest more.

Mamon has, on more than one occasion, invited Jacquel on a ‘hunt’ with him. Where the two go out on a date within a city or town, and scout out a suitable life realm creature. Killing as a beautiful and murderous duo in the backalley streets. Mamon thinks Jacquel looks so pretty drenched in blood under the moonlight :)  This demon is fuck’n smitten. Omfg.

Mamon believes Jac would fare well in Hell, and if a portal ever opens up somewhere, Mamon will pull him through it without a second thought.

He has plans to kill Jac horribly there, in the Hell realm. (Mamon wishes he could kill him here, in the life realm. But if the man dies in the life realm, his soul will be lost to purgatory. He would be lost to reincarnation forever.

But in Hell, the soul has nowhere to go (as it's already in a death realm). After death, his soul would simply stay inside his corpse until Mamon pulls it out.

Thus, Hell is the only safe place for the demon to torturously murder his half human without losing his soul to reincarnation.

While they live together in the Life Realm however, Mamon simply will not let Jac die.

He is not allowed.

And as such, is very protective of him in dangerous situations. To the point that Jacquel gets extremely annoyed and violent towards Mamon. He is not some weak human that needs protection! He’s the captain of a feared pirate ship, damn it! He’s survived for 36 years without Mamon’s protection and he will survive long after it too.

Mamon hates that humans/life creatures age and get older, reaching a point they will no longer be able to sustain their own life.

The irony! That life itself tries to kill those that have obtained it. Mamon would enjoy this, if it didn’t mean losing the one life creature he wanted to keep alive.

The only solace Mamon has is that Jac ages slower than his fellow humans, due to his half demon lineage; but one day he will get old and die regardless of how protected he has been by the Mamon.

This secretly infuriates Mamon and bringing up mortality makes him irritable. Jac doesn’t worry about it, and finds this amusing to bring up around Mamon.

With this in mind, Mamon is constantly keeping his eyes and ears peeled for signs of a portal into Hell. All he wants is to take his human there, have fun killing him, and find a way back to the life realm! Where they can live and joyfully murder together for eternity without the fear of old age or fatal wounds to claim them. It didn’t used to be this hard, damn it! Where’s a fire lord portal when you need one?

There are, however, said to be spells that can pull a soul out of a mortal body without losing the soul to reincarnation, while in a life realm; but Mamon has never been good with magic. He does not trust any humans or realm demons to do magic correctly, and most Hellspawn won’t touch this type of magic in fear of gaining attention from the fire lords, in order to test this theory out; but it is an option that he is open to listening to, should it reach his ears.

Jacquel has no knowledge of these plans to kill him in Hell, of course. But Mamon plans to warm him up to the idea by giving Jacquel vague details of the Hell realm from time to time, and the way of life that is lived there. He knows these things intrigue Jac, due to his determination to become fully demon one day.

The half human seems to be interested in going there the more he hears of it, and Mamon is more than happy to oblige when the time is right...

- In particularly dire battles, Mamon will forgo any crew member’s safety, in order to ensure that Jacquel makes it out alive no matter what; even at the expense of a mission, a plan, or the lives of important people to their current situation.

(Of course he tends to act very subtly about this, as much as he can, given specific situations, but this fact is not lost on Jacquel and Mamon has been yelled at/beaten up on more than one occasion because of it). Honestly being beaten up by Jac is hot as fuck, so he doesn’t complain ;)

Mamon prides himself on being the one that Jac turns to, because the half human considers him a close and powerful ally (yes, with benefits ;) ) (it’s not everyday Jac gets a Hellspawn in his crew after all, and Mamon takes advantage of this fact every chance he gets).

There is a special kinship between them, what Mamon would call a ‘compatibility’ magic. Where their souls/auras work well with one another, creating a stronger united power.

This is only something that is known in the death realms, like Hell. Jac doesn’t seem to understand, despite Mamon explaining this to him, but Mamon finds it cute that the man pretends to understand, in order to seem more demon perhaps? Jac is constantly trying to push the human side of him further under the dirt. Amusing as it is to see, Mamon’s favourite thing about him is his stubborn humanness.

Ironically, and unknown to Jac, it’s the human side of him that is so adamant on becoming a full demon. It’s also that very same human side that carries the hungry bloodlust as it wishes to be more demon, that of which Mamon holds closest to his heart. <3
