Karandash is jovial, silly, and quick to crack a joke. He's made a decent life for himself, but he can't help but be filled with wishful thinking and a strange sense of wanderlust - no matter what he does, he feels like he should be doing more. He's actually kind of a sad guy once you get to know him. He has a preoccupation with space and wishes he could be an astronaut. 

Karandash has no idea who he is or where he came from, just that he was somewhere unpleasant for a very long time given the scars on his wrists and ankles. He got a job as a side act with Madame Savage's cirque blue moon and has stayed with her ever since.
