Subspecies

Mountainous/cold climate - 

• stouter, higher body fat
• very thick fur with no skin visible
• large mane
• vestigial wings; can't fly but uses wing for warmth
• usually white, grey, or brown fur; solid or patterned
• domesticate mountainous chuma are prized for their thick manes, which are often sheered much like an angora rabbit. they're milk is also considered to be a luxury item and is very sweet considering their high sugar diets.

Tropical - 

• leaner and taller than most chuma
• thin fur that shows the skin around the belly
• no mane
• large wings; can fly short distances
• longer nails to climb trees
• evolved to have a poisonous bite, coloring brightens the stronger the poison is; usually strengthened by eating poisonous berries and plants
• domesticated tropical chuma are prized for their bright coloration and are generally bred for brighter colors and wild patterns
• domesticated chuma with large wings and nails such as these are often clipped to keep them from escaping
• most sought out but also the most dangerous because of its venom

• lean and short
• nearly completely hairless 
• large ears to release heat
• moderate sized wings, tho rarely flies, can glide. uses wrings to shield it from the sun and protect it from sandstorms
• long, sweeping tail

• often bred to have a mix of features between the different chuma's and also more prominent mutations
• tends to lack the social community chuma naturally have and so bond deeply with their owners. while bred to be more docile, they also tend to be much more stressed without their family units and putting all their social needs on a singular person.
• due to stress, their life spans tend to be shorter in captivity
