[OPTIONAL BACKSTORY] 

Odelia was once a Royal Advisor before the fall of the kingdom. She now lives in a secluded section of City of Tears, fairly protected from those infected. She spends her times trying to save scrolls and book, desperate to preserve Hallownest's rich history and knowledge.

She found a small vessel wandering City of Tears, poorly dodging enemies and threatening them with a wooden staff they clutched like their life depended on it. She took the vessel in, dubbing them "Small One", and taking them under her wing. Since she was highly educated as part of Hallownest's high society, she taught them to read, and shared her vast knowledge with them. 

While they are unable (or unwilling) to speak, they have since developed a language made up of gestures and miming to communicate with Odelia. 

They prefer to avoid all conflict, only fighting as a last resort. They are skittish and easily scared, clinging to Odelia when they go out to search for scrolls.
