Ever since a filly, ArcticStar was an independent soul. She resented her older brother sticking up for her and would often tease him calling him weak.

As she grew, she found that her magic capability was a bit higher than the others in her school. Still she didn't quite want to leave all she had known in Ponyville quite yet. It was only once she was fully grown and finished with her classes that Winter sent her for her studies to begin at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns.

ArcticStar's relationship with RockHoof begin in her teen years. It was obvious her father didn't approve, and it caused a rift between them. She chose RockHoof and tried to run away. Later than night, she came back, heartbroken. Surprisingly, Keir was up waiting for her.

Although she does have a close bond with her family, she likes to keep to herself and take care of matters on her own.
