About
Uai has been Merilee's vessel since his cousin was five years old. Two years her senior, he has grown to be nothing but fond of his mistress. Uai is incredibly loyal to Merilee and would probably die to keep her safe.
This may seem odd at times. Not just because yo chill it's your cousin, but because Merilee is a half-elf. His Aunt, who was head of his noble family at the time, fully intended that he become more open-minded through caring for his half-elf cousin. He does not hold the same negative opinion of half-elves as the rest of his family. In fact, Uai is generally a very accepting soul.
Men in his family traditionally learn to live by the sword. Uai trained to be Merilee's first line of defence, but he was more interested in healing. He was able to receive training as a cleric in order to "Better Support" his cousin. In truth, his aunt was just all about destroying social norms.
Story Summary
Uai lives in a Matriarchal Elven Kingdom, far away from any other races, called "The Moon Kingdom." The Kingdom was run by a Royal family and their power checked by six other families. Of those six families, Uai's family-- The Kannon Family-- governed the Kingdom's religion. For generations, the Kannon Family had produced full blood elves who were powerful and influential clerics.
However, only the women in this society and family held any power. So when Uai was born, his mother was honestly disappointed and wondered why/uai the Goddess had not given her a daughter. The reason for his mother's angst was in Uai's aunt, Marianah, who was the current head of the family. Marianah had married a human and was inevitably going to give birth to half-elf heirs. Uai's mother, Bineeta, could not bear the thought of the proud family bloodline being sullied this way. She had hoped for a daughter to contest the legitimacy of Marianah's offspring, but her prayers were not answered.
This burden pushed Uai to learn feminine habits and try to impress his mother, but all this did was insult her. Their had a strained relationship, but Uai was loyal to the woman of his household. When he was eight years old, this loyalty led to Marianah assigning a special task to Uai: He would be the personal valet to her daughter, the proper Heir Merilee. Uai was at first disgusted to serve a half-elf, but gradually realized there was nothing wrong with her half-blood. In fact, Merilee was a gifted cleric and insightful person. By the time he was ten, he had sworn loyalty to her and took up knight's training in order to protect her.
Then, suddenly, Marianah died.
A power vacuum was left in the Kannon family. Merilee was far too young to take over the household, so Uai's aunt filled her shoes. With the support of the other families, they made a decision that altered the childrens' futures forever: Merilee could only become the heir if she significantly proved her worth as a Half Elf... If she could not impress the other five families, then Uai would be married off at age 18 and expected to produce a daughter. Though he did not wish to take Merilee's right as heir away, Uai knew he was in no position to argue. Merilee left the Estate on an adventure, leaving her cousin to be uncomfortably courted.

.★ Though he is primarily a Cleric, Uai is also a trained swordsmen.

.★ He is often going on arranged marriage dates with female elves. He is polite, but schemes to get all his dating partners to break it off first.
