Primrose

History

Prim was orphaned very young, young enough they have no recollection of that prior life. Perhaps having no frame of outside reference to compare to being raised by the Clergy was for the best. Unable to be matched with a suitable family, Prim aged out of being adopted and was prepared for life as a clergy member.

It wasn’t all bad. Prim was a quick study and dutiful, and if there was ever a criticism it was that Primrose's favorite pastime was glaringly obvious in comparison to their other chores and duties— gardening. Prim was notorious for trading chores with other younger members (who probably felt they got the better deal—) to get back out to the weeding, trimming, and overall caring for their cloisters’ extensive gardens and orchards.

Primrose has always had a serious nature, finding it hard to connect with others on a casual level. It's easier for them to put down their walls when they’re somewhere outside getting their paws dirty. Of course, the second Tech War changed everything. Their fellow clergy members scattered or dead, Primrose wasn’t entirely sure what was next for them— their entire life at this point had been directed by others. For all the devastation around them, there was also the small and tantalizing glimmer of choice. As cold as they can appear at a glance, Primrose cares deeply for their fellow curios and for the future of Tonpelli. Offering their support to the Clear Bells felt like the correct step forward.

Primrose has an extensive knowledge of natural folk remedies, and is trying their best to learn more about medicine from former Medic Company members and mainland doctors alike. It is their own personal quest to see that not all of Tonpellis unique cultivated plant life is lost. It's a common sight to see them pocketing seeds, clippings or even entire plants when they can. Prim maintains a few different seed libraries stashed away both in temporary residencies on the Mainland and on any bases they frequent on Tonpelli.

Design & Trivia

• Primrose prefers either being called by their full name or just by “Prim,” do not shorten it to “Rose” or “Rosy” if you expect anything more than a glare.
• For plant life they cannot seed, transplant or clip, Primrose maintains detailed notes about location, germination, and any native varieties for potential future re-breeding.
• They also collect and press various herbs and flowers, finding it calming.
• Prim has mixed feelings about their life with the Clergy. Part of them longs for the times when everything fell simply into place, and another small and buried part feels a little bitter.
• Prim on occasion still sings clergy prayer songs, but never intends for an audience outside any plants they may be tending to hear. Eavesdropping is a good way to get a door slammed in your face.
• Besides reading herbal and medicine journals, Prim has developed a bit of a romance novel habit. Seems there's a lot to life the clergy didn’t teach you…
