Adelaide was born to acclaimed scientists. Her mother was killed in a freak accident involving a reactor her father had built, leaving just the two of them to further the research on his machine. It eventually killed him in much the same way it had killed Adelaide's mother, leaving Adelaide alone with heaps of research and a strange device. She ended up working for The Happy Corporation as the head of her own research department, granting her a veritable playground for all manner of experiments. She eventually teamed up with Ingrym Stoker, an alleged cult leader interested in the strange machine her father had built. Unbeknownst to her, she also had a twin sister that was stolen from the hospital nursery - the two reconcile during Adelaide's time at the corporation.
