The guardian spirit of a half-abandoned homestead, both Monty and the house he manifests have seen better days. He's given up on keeping the raccoons out of his attic, and the rats from the basement. It's not like anyone else is trying to live here. Even the summer family that used to own the place seem to have forgotten about it. So he lets the garden overgrow, the pests have free reign, the tools rust and the furniture rot. It's not as if it matters. Maybe it's time to stop being a spirit, and start being a haunt.

World

A house is built with expectations. It is expected to be safe, to be warm, to be a home. From those expectations, more often than not, a spirit manifests. They are understood to be the soul, or perhaps will of the house that 'births' them, seperate from yet part of the overall building. It's thought by some that such spirits are the key difference between a mere house and a home, but such ideas are quite outdated in the modern era. After all, some argue, what is a 'household spirit' but a roommate you never asked for?

Especially if things turn ugly- a surly house spirit can quickly turn home into a living nightmare, rendering a house unlivable, or worse: Unsellable.
